The Word of Our God Endures Forever
For you have been born again, not of perishable seed, but of imperishable, through the living and enduring word of
God. For, “All people are like grass, and all their glory is like the flowers of the field; the grass withers and the flowers
fall, but the word of the Lord endures forever.” And this is the word that was preached to you. 1 Peter 1:23-25
Our theme for this year is The Word of the Lord endures forever. Jesus said “the heavens and earth shall pass away
but my words will never pass away,” Matt 24:35 and in another place, “until heaven and earth passes away not the
smallest letter, not the least stroke of a pen will disappear from the Law until all things are fulfilled” Matt 5:18. God’s
word stands firm like a rock while the ground all around us is shifting sand. The enduring Word is a truth that we affirm
and continually look to instill into the hearts and minds of our students. God helps us to permeate our teaching
with the fact that there is absolute truth and the Bible is our source of that truth. God’s word endures forever.
As always, I continue to pray that God will use you and me to raise up a generation that has a love for the Word of
God and a heart after Him.
Grace and peace to you in abundance,
Jeff Knori,
Dear LCCS School Family,
A Message from Lake Center Christian School Superintendent: Dr. Joseph Beeson
I was blessed to chaperone the Marine Biology class to the Florida
Keys this summer. We snorkeled and learned about God’s amazing
creative power. Two days were spent snorkeling from boats. One was
a small research boat and the other a larger tourist boat that held
around forty people. As we exited the boats (not so gracefully for me
from the small boat) and began to snorkel over the reef in the area, I
often looked up to assure myself I had not drifted from the boat. The
boat became my point of reference as to where I was in the ocean.
Fortunately, both boats had strong anchors to hold them in place to
assure I would not be lost and drift in the wrong direction.
Our theme for this year focuses on that anchor: “The Word of our
God Stands Forever” from I Peter 1:25.
Our core value of students possessing a Biblical Worldview requires that we have a firm foundation. That foundation
is the eternal Word of God which is a true message from Him to clearly guide our path. And, needless to say, in a
world system that is focused on mankind and his desires; we need a clear path (Psalm 119:105).
Thank you again this year for helping us give that clear path to your student. We covet your prayers for this school
year.
In Him,
Dr. Beeson, Superintendent
Welcome to the 2018-2019 School Year
Back to School Night is scheduled for Friday, August 17 from 4:30-7:00 P.M. This is a time to stop by and meet
teachers, visit classrooms, bring in school supplies, set up lockers, and check on schedules. There will be New Family
Welcome Packets in the Central Lobby. We will not be having other activities on campus this year. Our school community
get-together will be the Family Round-up on Tuesday, September 25.
Elementary Students and Parents may view class lists during Back to School Night on
Friday, August 17 from 4:30-7:00 P.M. Lists will be posted outside each classroom and
teachers will be available to answer questions. Students are welcome to bring in their
school supplies at that time. The School Supply lists are posted on the LCCS website.
Please note that room locations have changed for this upcoming school year. Please see
the enclosed map.
Junior High Students: You will be able to set up your lockers during Back to
School Night. Schedules are available in your RenWeb account and a hard copy
will be available in the Junior High hallway that evening.
High School Students: You can find a
copy of your Fall 2018 schedule in your RenWeb account. High School students
may set up their lockers during Back to School Night also. Although
every effort has been made to accommodate all course requests, inevitably
not every student is able to take every course requested. If you feel there is
an error on your schedule or if you would like to request something to be
changed at this point, please access the following Schedule Inquiry Form or
access the form in RenWeb1 under Resource Documents. Guidance will
respond to your inquiry as soon as possible.
Lake Center Christian School Traffic Procedures
OUR GOAL IS SAFE, SMOOTH, EFFICIENT CAR LINE. YOUR COOPERATION IS APPRECIATED!
PLEASE NO CELL PHONE USE DURING PICK-UP/DROP-OFF
DRIVERS SHOULD NOT EXIT VEHICLE WHILE IN THE CAR LINE.
STUDENTS SHOULD NEVER GO BETWEEN VEHICLES/ONLY EXIT ON PASSENGER SIDE.
LCCS has three entry/exit points along Kaufman Avenue. *
The Main Entrance is South Entrance in front of the school building.
The South Exit at the front near the Kaufman Center.
The North Entrance/Exit is at the back of the school building
*PLEASE REFER TO DIAGRAM ON BACK
Car Riders:
Families with both elementary and secondary or just secondary
students – please use the main entrance when entering from
Kaufman Avenue. Use the far right lane as you approach the
school for dropping off and picking up. Student drop-off/pick-up
will be at the Door #2 porch. When you reach the end of the
porch area, turn left to circle around. Exit using the exit lane
that goes behind the Kaufman Center and use the South Exit.*
Bus Riders:
Busses will use the North Entrance/exit and will turn around just
before the loading dock. Drop-off/Pick-up will be along the
sidewalk on the North side of the school building. Students will
enter the building at door #11.
Safety is our first priority!
Please be extremely cautious and patient.
Allow yourself plenty of time for drop off/pick-up.
Parking:
Faculty and staff parking will be located on the North, or back,
side of the building. Parents and visitors are to use the South, or
front, lot. Student drivers are to park at the Kaufman Center
closest to the building.
• From 7:00 A.M. - 3:30 P.M., please do not park in any space
that is not completely outlined in yellow in the South lot.
This will keep traffic routes open.
Special Notes:
1. Our speed limit around the school is five (5) mph. Please
observe this rule for everyone’s safety.
2. White lines/arrows on the parking lot are specifically for
traffic flow during arrival and dismissal. Please observe
them.
3. Cars coming from the North MUST YIELD to busses.
4. Talk to your child(ren) and inform them where they will be
dropped off and picked up Door #2 Porch, Door #4
(Elementary) or Door #11 (Bus Zone).
5. During drop-off/pick-up, we ask that you pull up in the lane
as far as possible so that multiple vehicles are able to pickup/drop-off
at the same time. This keeps traffic flowing
smoothly for everyone.
6. For safety reasons, all pedestrians walking from parking
spaces to the building must use the crosswalks.
7. Parent Drop-off and Pick Up at Door #2 and Door #4 only.
Please do not drop-off or pick-up at any other door.
Thank you!
LAKE CENTER CHRISTIAN SCHOOL
IMPORTANT TRAFFIC RULES
Updated OCTOBER October 2017 2017
As our school grows, we are becoming more concerned about traffic safety.
On behalf of the traffic directors, the following reminders are being communicated to you
concerning morning and afternoon traffic procedures.
Our goal is to remain accident free while maintaining safety and fluidity. These rules are to be
strenuously adhered to between the times of 7:40am - 8am AND 2:40pm - 3:00pm or as long as
the crossing guard is stationed. If you have appointed someone else to pick up your child, please
make sure they are aware of these procedures.
◦ Obey the traffic director at all times! They are here for your safety
◦ To maintain consistent flow of traffic, it should take no more than 20-30 seconds for
individuals to exit the vehicle. Please have your child(ren) ready to exit in a safe and swift
manner. If it will take longer to do so, you will need to park.
◦ Refrain from using your cell phone while dropping off or picking up your child(ren).
◦ There are orange cones marking stopping points. Pull up as far as you possibly can.
◦ Communicate intentions by using your turn signal.
◦ Do not stop your vehicle over any part of the crosswalk.
◦ If you are dropping off or picking up and are in line to do so, individuals are to get in and out
of the vehicles on the passenger side only and at doors numbered one and four only. If you're
dropping off/picking up and you are not in line, you must park.
◦ At no time is a child allowed to use the trunk or the driver side of the vehicle for any reason
while being dropped off or picked up. If it is necessary to do so, you must park.
◦ Drivers are not to exit their vehicle if they are in line for any reason other than an emergency.
An emergency is defined by having to call 911.
◦ Do not proceed out of line unless you make some indication of the desire to do so and the
director guides you out safely. If you have passed the crosswalk, you may exit with caution.
◦ If you desire to park your car, please use your turn signal so that you may be directed
accordingly.
◦ When parking, please park in the designated, outlined spots. Do not make your own. Doing
so creates a safety hazard for your child(ren), you, and others.
◦ If you are in the drop off line and determine you need to park, you may do so after you pass the
crosswalk.
◦ Do not back into a parking spot. It is unsafe as too many people are walking between cars
during these times.
◦ If you have parked, please use the crosswalk and wait for the traffic director to signal you to
cross.
Thank you for committing to these standards. Acting in accordance with these guidelines will
make for a consistent and controlled traffic pattern, thus preventing injuries and accidents.
Student Driver Guidelines
High school students possessing driver’s licenses or permits may drive to school. Student drivers may not leave the
school building during the day and go to their car, including during lunch. Student drivers are to park in the
Kaufman Center lot, maintain very slow speeds while on campus, not have music playing loudly, and not take other
students off campus in their cars without express permission. Student drivers will not be granted an early dismissal
from school without a written note from a parent. Students in violation will likely have their driving privileges
suspended. For safety reasons, student drivers who bring younger siblings to school are to drop off their siblings as
a car rider or personally escort them across the line of traffic via crosswalks. Students are not permitted to “hang
out” at their cars either before or after school in school parking lots. At no time should a boy and girl be sitting in a
parked car together on school grounds. A Parking Pass must be purchased and displayed on the rear view
mirror of the car.
I have read and agree to abide by the student driver guidelines.
Greetings! I hope you are all having a wonderful summer. The first day of school is August 21st, which is only four
short weeks away!! Please read this letter and the enclosed documents carefully as they will help you plan for the upcoming
school year.
Summer Mailing Magazine – Most of the summer mailing information is now available online at www.lccs.com/
summer-mailing. This mailing is from the Business Office and deals with tuition, fees and lunches.
Free & Reduced Lunches – We are participating in the National Free and Reduced Lunch Program this year. Eligibility
is based on the household gross income (chart enclosed). If you are eligible, you will need to fill out the enclosed
application and return it to the Business Office. Your lunch costs will not be reduced until we receive and approve your
application. If you have any questions call Teri Griffith at ext. 515.
Tuition Payment Booklet – Your tuition booklet is enclosed. Please look it over and let me know if you have any
questions. Tuition is paid over 10 months with the first payment due on August 15th and the last payment due on May
15th. Just a reminder, late payments will be charged a 1% late fee.
Your Chance to Help – Every coupon has a line for a donation toward tuition assistance. We have also added 2 extra
coupons at the end of your tuition booklet to allow you to continue your support of Lake Center over the summer. Just
one or two months of additional tuition will allow us to continue moving toward our vision of enhanced facilities, improved
programs, and increased financial strength. Please feel free to designate whatever area you desire for your gift.
Activity Fees Spreadsheet – To help with family budgets, we offer the opportunity to spread your fee expenses over 8
months (October – May). If you know the activities your child(ren) will participate in this year, enter them into the
spreadsheet and turn it into the Business Office by August 21st. If your child doesn’t participate in an activity, we will
give you a full credit. The complete fee schedule is on the LCCS website. Click on the parents tab and then click on
Tuition and Fees at the bottom of the drop down menu.
Three Ways To Make Payments
1) Directly to LCCS – You can mail your payments directly to LCCS or drop them off in the Central
Lobby/Office.
2) RenWeb1 On-Line – If you have not checked out your tuition and fees on RenWeb1 yet, I recommend
you do so this year. Once you’ve logged into RenWeb1, click on the Family Information but
ton on the bottom left side of the screen. The billing information will be on the bottom right side of
the next screen. Click on one of the detail buttons to see your transactions for the year. If you are a
new family to LCCS, I have enclosed instructions to register on RenWeb1. You will also be able to
make payments on RenWeb1. We only accept electronic checks at a cost of 85 cents per check, but
you can pay your tuition, fees and lunch charges on one transaction.
3) Automatic Tuition Payments – For those who would like your tuition payment automatically
withdrawn from your bank account, I have enclosed an Authorization Agreement Form and
Instructions. If you have participated in this program in the past, you still need to fill out a form every
year. I need to receive your completed form by August 10 th .
