requesting authorization to extend the end date from June 29, 2001 through October 31, 2001, for the Post
Release Reintegration Grant. This will allow the Department of Impact Incarceration adequate time to
spend the remaining funds in the grant.
The purpose of this grant is to fund the post release phase of the Cook County Boot Camp program. The
post release phase provides participants with needed support as they transition into their communities
from the Boot Camp site. The phase includes ongoing counseling, job search consultation, values
reaffirmation and appropriate supervision.
Estimated Fiscal Impact: None. Funding extension period: June 29, 2001 through October 31, 2001.

GRANT AWARD RENEWALS
Transmitting a Communication, dated July 13, 2001 from
HENRY A. BUDZINSKI, Interim Chief Judge, Circuit Court of Cook County
requesting authorization to renew a grant award in the amount of $20,500.00 from the Attorney General
of Illinois. This grant is funded through the Violent Crime Victims Assistance Act Program and
supplements the County’s current salary for the executive director of the court’s Children’s Advocacy
Rooms and the Children’s Advocacy Clinic.
The court operates seven Children’s Advocacy Rooms in the following court facilities: the Richard J.
Daley Center, 50 West Washington Street; Domestic Violence Court, 1340 South Michigan Avenue;
Juvenile Court, 1100 South Hamilton Avenue; the Expedited Child Support Center, 32 West Randolph
Street; the Family Mediation Unit, Cook County Administration Building, 69 West Washington Street;
Domestic Relations Court, 28 North Clark Street; and the Sixth Municipal District in south suburban
Markham. An additional facility is under construction in the Fourth Municipal District Courthouse in
west suburban Maywood. The Children’s Advocacy Clinic operates in the 1340 South Michigan Avenue
court facility.

30, 2002.

KAREN L. SCOTT, M.D., M.P.H., Chief Operating Officer, Department of Public Health
requesting authorization to renew a grant award in the amount of $1,298,652.00 from the Illinois
Department of Public Health to continue to serve as the Lead Agency for the Regional HIV
Implementation Group, coordinating HIV prevention services in Region 8 (Suburban Cook County),
including HIV Prevention Health Education and Risk Reduction, and Prevention Counseling, Testing,
Referral, and Partner Notification.
Estimated Fiscal Impact: None. Grant Award: $1,298,652.00. Funding period: July 1, 2001 through
June 30, 2002.
