Ingalls maintains high level of patient care with dedicated doctors
A common scenario in
dramatic movie scripts
begs the question, “Is there
a doctor in the house?”
One will have to be more
specific if they are asking
for Dr. Rahmani at UChicago
Medicine Ingalls Memorial.
Dr. Akbar Rahmani became
acquainted with Ingalls
Memorial Hospital
in the late 1970s as he was
involved in his endocrinology
fellowship at Cook
County Hospital, and he
joined the Ingalls medical
staff in 1980. He now
counts more than three decades
of ongoing patient
relationships, and that
dedication to his patients
inspired his children in
their careers.
Now his son, Kaveh,
and daughter, Solmaz, are
practicing primary care in
Flossmoor and Crestwood
at Ingalls Family Care
Centers. They are among
the swelling numbers of
Rahmani medical practitioners,
which includes an
uncle and aunt, nieces and
nephews, and a younger
brother currently in medical
school.
A primary care doctor
both siblings are graduates
of Homewood-Flossmoor
from Indiana University
and Solmaz from
University of Illinois at
Urbana-Champaign. They
earned Master of Science
degrees in biomedical sciences
and then Doctor of
Osteopathy degrees from
Midwestern University.
As a family practitioner,
Dr. Kaveh Rahmani has
the skills and knowledge
to care for adolescent and
adult patients. His areas of
special interest and expertise
