Cricket
A staggering 154 Cricket fixtures shared between
32 different teams, has seen a total of 22,758 runs
scored by the Cumnor boys this Summer!
We have seen the U8 boys compete in their first
competitive cricket fixtures for the school and the
U9 boys have continued to impress in their pairs’
cricket matches. A squad of 12 talented U8/9 boys
finished the Summer by taking on an U9 Surrey
Development side which proved to be hugely
beneficial and it has been great to see our younger
boys adapt to hard ball cricket with ease. The
U10ABCD teams have been strong across the board
and have shared 28 victories in 38 games played.
The U10A side were unlucky not to win the Reigate
Grammar School 6 A-Side Tournament and various
other tournaments over the Summer.
Cricket has flourished once again in the Upper
School, with National success at both U11 and U13
level. Although both sides did not go onto win
the National Cup, all boys should be massively
proud of their efforts in qualifying for such
events. Cricket remains a strong success at
the school and currently 17 different boys are
involved in the Surrey Cricket County set up. The
school term ended with the U13A side winning
the Surrey Cup for a third successive year!
