Superintendent News:
By Dr. Joseph Beeson
Dear Parents,
We have had a great start to our school year. Our new personnel have quickly adjusted to our
community, and our new students are already making new friends. Thank you so much for
your prayers. We are also excited to see our elementary students eating lunch at a more reasonable
hour in the cafenasium. Overall, the “hiccups” of road construction are being figured
out by each of you as you allow a little extra time. We look forward to thirty-five more weeks
of partnering with you to help our students understand they should view all of life from God’s perspective as well
as help them become life-long learners.
Preschool - 6th Grade Information
By Mrs. Stock
Dear Families,
Oh my goodness, it is so good to have students back. The sound of their voices along with their infectious smiles
brings joy to my heart. I pray that it was a good first week for all the students. What an honor and privilege to be
at a school where truth is proclaimed in all that is taught. As we start this year it is our intention to continually
remind the students that God’s word is eternal and can be trusted. Our theme verse is 1Peter 1:25. The word of
the Lord endures forever. My prayer for each of us is that we will stand firm on this truth through every trial or
triumph we come up against. So thankful for each of our families!
Have a blessed week.
Just a few reminders;
• Please review dress code guidelines to ensure compliance
• Remember to have students exit/enter out the passenger side when in the car line
• Please make sure we are aware if your child is riding a bus to/from school
• Check the class newsletters to keep up to date on important information

Good Resource for Parents
"When should I give my child a phone?" Maybe you’re asking that question, but if you have already provided
your child with a phone I’ll bet you’re asking, “How can we tame this beast?” The folks from Axis ministries have
put together a handful of videos that will help you navigate these waters. They have provided these videos as a
free resource to parents. The final article has much more information about this great resource.
LAKE CENTER CHRISTIAN ATHLETICS
LCCS Varsity Athletics Weekly Review (Week of August 20th):
2018-19 CONCESSION STAND INFORMATION
• New for the 2018-19 school year, indoor concessions are being operated by our new Food Service Manager,
Kathy Fulk. The concession stand is in a new location, the cafeteria, and features an improved menu with
great snack, dinner and drink items. Outdoor concessions will continue to be operated by the LCCS Blue and
Gold Athletic Booster Club.
VARSITY GIRLS SOCCER
• The team opened up their season with a heavy schedule in week one by playing matches against some very
good opponents: Ellet and Garfield. After a disappointing opening-season loss to Ellet, the team bounced
back and played very competitively with PTC-opponent, Garfield. The Lady G-Men defeated the Lady Tigers
5-2, but Coach Kadlecek left the match feeling optimistic for the future as he noted, “we are very young, but
it’s a journey and we’re moving forward.” Senior, Elise Gambol, scored both goals in the match against Garfield.
• Week Results: Ellet Orangemen (L, 0-8), Garfield Lady G-Men (L, 2-5)
VARSITY BOYS SOCCER
• The team opened up their season with two PTC victories over Garfield, 5-0, and Crestwood, 4-1. There were
four different scorers in the first match as senior, Christian Zavarelli, scored two, while Gabe Haubert, Silas
Kadlecek and Graham Duff each scored one apiece. Christian Zavarelli also scored three goals against
Crestwood to make it five total on the young season. First year head coach, Bryan Smith, also earned his first
varsity win of his career. The Tigers are feeling confident after a 2-0 start to the new season.
• Week Results: Garfield G-Men (W,5-0), Crestwood Red Devils (W, 4-1)

VARSITY BOYS GOLF
• The team only played one match this past week against non-conference opponent, Waterloo. Disappointedly,
the team did not shoot very well and lost at Paradise Lake Golf Course. Junior, Matt Starcher, shot the team’s
low-round on the day.
• Week Results: Waterloo Vikings (L)
VARSITY VOLLEYBALL
• The team opened up their season with two matches against Waterloo and PTC-opponent, Mogadore. The
match against Waterloo was determined in four sets as the Vikings defeated the Tigers, 3-1. The bounced
back and played a very close match against the Wildcats. After winning the first set, the Tigers played two
more close ones, but eventually lost the match, 3-1.
• Week Results: Waterloo Vikings (L, 1-3), Mogadore Wildcats (L, 1-3)
SmartPhone Family Reboot
This is an important email. You only have until August 30 at midnight to watch the Smartphone Family Reboot
(30 days to get your own technology and your teen’s under control!) starts and is no longer accessible to you.
Midnight, August 30 is when the timer expires, so look at your phone. Are you more drawn to it than you want
to be? Have you found yourself unable to communicate to your teens what your expectations are for how they
use their phones?
Here’s what we’ll be going over for the whole month of September with you if you join:
What to do: watch video 1, video 2 and video 3 now and share it with your friends. (We had some people get
upset about that last time because they’re just such good videos!) They’ll give you 4 conversations to have about
smartphones in your family. Ready? They’re intense:
#1: (Let’s start with...) Very good, cursed, and redeemed.
#2: What is it for?
#3: (Okay, folks...) We are on a journey of trust with a destination of independence.
#4: You can tell me anything. (And I won’t yell at you.)
Ask/State those to your family, and you have already taken a huge step with your conversations.
Next: Decide whether you and your family will join us for a September focus on smartphones:
- Daily lessons
- Weekly challenges
- Weekly activites with you family
- A confession (“Oooh...yep, really.”)
- Finally, a signed family agreement on what, how, when, where, etc. for every aspect of EVERYONE’S (including
the parents) phones. You all make the decision together.
It takes work to get to that last one. Are you willing? Does your family need this work to be done? If you’ll join
us, hit the button below before the timer runs out.
The countdown is running! You have until August 30 at midnight to watch these videos and get your family’s
30 Day Smartphone Family Reboot.
Get The 30 Day Smartphone Family Reboot Now
Every family we have talked to about this whose kids are in college or older has said “Where was this technology
help 10 years ago when my kids got their first phones??”
I don’t want you to be one of those families. If your teens are out of the home, send this to a friend who is struggling
with their teens and technology so they don’t miss out like our friends did. Check out a summary of the full
reboot from the writers and producers.
