Branches on the way. The tour runs from 7 - 13 March 2019. There is no North Island Easter
Rally in 2019.
The Federation of Motoring Clubs (FOMC) has around 120 affiliated clubs of which we are
one. Tony Bartlett reported on the difficulties arising with newly recruited younger vehicle
inspectors with their lack of knowledge of older vehicles and requirements applying to
them.
2021 International Festival of Motoring: This event will have a totally different format to
previous international rallies and aims to have a turn-out of 10% of the membership,
around 850. The event will run from Sunday 17 to Friday 22 January 2021. The five days of
motoring will be non-competitive with the exception of Day 3, when a competitive run will
be offered. The aim is to offer a week of relaxed touring around the Taranaki with a festival
atmosphere rather than a focus on rallying.
The National President presented a draft template for branch constitutions for consideration
and for branches to use as a basis for their own constitutions. We were advised that
no branch constitution could be in conflict with the National VCC constitution. The draft
template will emailed out to branches for consideration and discussion.
Tony Bartlett presented a draft Code of Conduct for members to consider. It is hoped that
this will support the recently adopted disciplinary procedures set out in the by-laws.
Branches have until 1 October to respond with comments regarding the Code of Conduct
before a final version is drafted for presentation and adoption at the March 2019 meeting
of the National Executive. The draft Code of Conduct has been emailed around branches.
