UPSI NEWS h t t p : / / w w w . u p s i . e d u . m y / Kelab Penyayang UPSI Received A Grant of RM5000.00 Selamat Menyambut Awal Muharram 11 September 2018 bersamaan 1 Muharram 1440 Hijrah UPSI, 18 July – Kelab Penyayang Universiti Pendidikan Sultan Idris managed to garner a grant of RM 5000 in order to execute a proposal entitled: ‘Kit Emas : Panduan untuk sukarelawan yang berkhidmat dengan warga emas’ from the Budi Penyayang Foundation. The grant was acquired following the UPSI team’s glorious run at the Piala Sukarelawan Menteri Pendidikan Tinggi Malaysia competition that was held at the RHR Hotel, Universiti Tenaga Nasional, Bangi on the 29th of April 2018, where they manage finish their run garnering sixth place out of 24 competing universities. The team consists of five Bachelor in Education and a single Bachelor’s degree students was supervised by Dr. Hapsah Md Yusof with Assist. Prof. Dr. Fauziah Hanim serving as a consultant. The grand prize was nabbed by Cyberjaya University College Of Medical Sciences, followed by Management Science University, Universiti Malaysia Sabah, Universiti Malaysia Pahang, and Universiti Sains Malaysia. The competition, which is held once every two years, is a joint collaboration between Yayasan Budi Penyayang Malaysia and the Ministry of Higher Education which aims to invigorate a sense of altruism within the members of volunteer clubs and student in any institute of higher education throughout the country. The winners of the competition will be selected based the proposed community project’s mix of innovation, impact and practicality. Vice Chancellor, Professor Dato’ Dr. Mohammad Shatar Sabran stated that a university would not be able to grow without creating a network of universities be it from within or outside of the country. “The teaching training aims to further refine our future educators. The Institute of Postgraduate Studies (IPS), Universiti Pendidikan Sultan Idris (UPSI) sees the current state of I.T integration into the field of education to create an application service entitled e-IPS for information browsing especially created to accommodate students enrolling in the Graduate Studies program (Master’s & Photographer: Tengku Najiehah Tengku Omar way to the House of Za’ba. He also added that UPSI would also widen its influence and networks at The Consortium of Asia-Pacific Education Universities (CAPEU) so that in the near future, the whole world would turn the CAPEU as a reference point for education. “We often make Western countries as a reference point nowadays whilst we also possess the potential and resources to further strengthen the role of the CAPEU, which I hope could be attainable through this collaboration,” UPSI was represented by Professor Dato’ Dr. Mohammad Shatar while UMS was represented by the Rector, Profesor Dr. Sofyan Anif.
