1285 Trainees Appointed as<br />

Volunteer Officers for SUKSIS Corp<br />

<strong>UPSI</strong>, 12 <strong>August</strong> – A total of 1285 trainees<br />

from 19 public universities had completed<br />

their training and had been appointed as Police<br />

Volunteer Reserve Corp Inspectors during an<br />

appointment ceremony that was held at the<br />

Tuanku Canselor Hall.<br />

The Inspector-General of Police, Tan Sri<br />

Dato’ Sri Muhammad Fuzi stated that the<br />

implementation of the Volunteer Reserve<br />

Corp is a form of mechanism that can promote<br />

moral values and patriotic sentiments among<br />

undergraduates.<br />

He also appealed to undergraduates to avoid<br />

all form of social issues and crimes.<br />

“As a member of the SUKSIS Corp, you must<br />

become an exemplary figure to other students.<br />

It is imperative that you showcase commendable<br />

personality and high level of discipline. I hope<br />

that the skills that you obtained from this<br />

experience will help you after graduation.<br />

Success is not only a form of destination, it is also<br />

a form of target that requires you to improve<br />

constantly,” he was quoted saying.<br />

Meanwhile, Vice Chancellor Prof. Dato’ Dr.<br />

Mohammad Shatar Sabran said that all higher<br />

institutions of educations should encourage<br />

undergraduates to participate in past-time<br />

activities that can benefit them, “It is very<br />

important for undergraduates to have additional<br />

skills, other than their academic achievements.<br />

A form of validation from SUKSIS can help<br />

improve the undergraduates’ marketability in<br />

the work force.”<br />

“In addition, the development of soft skills,<br />

social skills, discipline and the spirit of patriotism<br />

that are emphasized in SUKSIS are beneficial to<br />

improve the quality of graduates in our country.”<br />

During that event, Inspektor K/S Zahin Iqmal<br />

Abd Rani from International Islamic University<br />

Malaysia was awarded the ‘Inspector-General<br />

Special Award while Islamic Science University<br />

of Malaysia (USIM) was awarded the ‘Best Squad<br />

Award for the Inspector-General Special Award’.<br />

Also present during the ceremony were the<br />

Chairman of the Board of Directors, Tan Sri Dato’<br />

Seri Dr. Wan Mohd Zahid Mohd Noordin, the<br />

Director of Crime Prevention and Community<br />

Safety Department, Dato’ Sri Tajudin Md Isa<br />

and the Perak’s Chief of Police, Dato’ Pahlawan<br />

Hasnan Hassan.<br />
