mumbling the word fire? Were the rumors true? Were there really pirates? Environmental<br />
pirates in hiding? People who tore down trees and burnt them?<br />
Tom shook his head. It couldn’t be true, surely. Who would be brave enough?<br />
He laughed, and who would be silly enough?<br />
But imagine, just imagine what it would be like to tear a tree out of the ground<br />
or even chop it down with an axe. Its leaves bouncing around, its branches<br />
snapping under the force and its entire body being consumed by hot, raw<br />
flames.<br />
Thomas’ blood boiled, his heart raced, his mouth became dry. He could imagine<br />
what fire would give back to the people. Just imagine.
