High School Art Club 2018-19 When: The 4 th Friday of each month, after school (some dates subject to change.) Where: Unless we have a field trip, we will meet in the Art Room. Why: To foster visual arts awareness and to gather creative LCCS High School students. ALL LCCS High School Students welcome! Cost: $25.00 HIGH SCHOOL ART CLUB BEGINS MEETING IN OCTOBER! October Annual Pumpkin carving in the Art Room. Pumpkin provided. Paints, drill, sculpting tools, and craft materials available. Refreshments are provided. Meet on Friday, October 26, from 2:45-4:45 PM. November Paint the school windows for Christmas the week after Thanksgiving break. December Cookie exchange and art related games (like pictionary). Please bring two (2) dozen cookies for the exchange. You will bring home a variety of cookies. January Field trip to Youngstown Museums. Plan to leave LCCS at 1 PM (you may miss 8 th /9 th period) and return to LCCS at 6 PM, January 9, 2019. Meet in the Art Room for a craft, the 4 th Friday. February Meet in the Art Room for a craft. March Field trip to the Canton Museum of Art to see the Regional High School Show and Art in Canton. Bring money for dinner out together. April Service Project to be announced. Optional Glass Blowing in Akron. $70.00 will be necessary for those who attend. May Art and Party. Any questions, please contact Mrs. Stauffer. The cost is $50.00 per ticket. It is a celebration event to thank those who have completed our cafeteria remodel, and ask for the final phase of pledges to complete the Cafenasium. Our goal for this event is to raise $500,000. The evening will showcase our school with four fun interactive stations - Academics, Spiritual Guidance, Athletics, and Fine Arts. We had 49 pastors attend. We had 36 churches represented out of the 139 churches that our student body attends. Congratulations to Brett White from Akron Bible Church who won the basket and to Bruce Roth from St. Stephen Lutheran for winning the gift card. Thanks to the PTF parents who helped with the decorations, serving, and clean up. A special thank you to Kara Kirkpatrick for organizing this event for our Pastors. LCCS is sponsoring six students from India this year with our World Vision partnership. There will be a variety of opportunities this year to learn more about the people of India, as we sponsor these students and glean a better understanding of how we can share God’s love across the world. Operation Christmas Child Don’t forget to be looking for items to stuff those shoe boxes over the next few weeks. This is another great way to share God’s love and the message of Christmas with people around the world. The boxes are due in early November so that they may make it to the recipients in time for the holiday.
