with lots of information. As a Member
of AWC The Hague, you are automatically
a member of FAWCO. Check out
their website and sign up. There are
several monthly newsletters that you
can receive if you wish. Topics include
issues on human rights, the U.N., environment,
health, education and U.S.
issues.
• Our Biennial conference will be held
in Edinburgh, Scotland from March 21
to 24, 2019. All are welcome to join.

and fun.
• Our target fundraiser for Hope Beyond
Displacement (February 21 —more
details to follow) will be our popular
Handbag Auction. We are adding a
new item this year—art! If you have
art that you loved but now needs a new
home, please consider donating to our
auction. And, of course, your handbags
as usual!
• November 25 begins the yearly U.N.
Human Rights 16 Days Campaign.
This is a campaign to end gender-based
violence. The FAWCO Human Rights
Team has decided to make this a yearlong
campaign. We will be sharing info
throughout the year. We are recommending
that everyone watch the movies
Miss Representation and the Mask
You Live In. If there is interest, perhaps
a group viewing of one or both films
can be arranged. Let Julie Mowat or
Terri Mahoney know!
• If you are repatriating to the U.S.,
FAUSA (alumni of FAWCO) is a great
group to join. Check out their website
at FAUSA.org
• CSW63 and the NGO Forum will
be held at the U.N. in New York
from March 11 to 22, 2019. If you’re
interested in global women’s rights,
join the FAWCO delegation. You do not
have to attend both weeks of CSW; you
can do both—experience CSW and go
to the FAWCO Biennial Conference!
