Thank You from Puerto Rico to Our AWC

The Puerto Rican town of Comerío
has been adopted by the Puerto Rican
Agenda, and is the recipient of the
Club’s contribution of $ 4,160. The donation
is being used to help in the Rescue, Relief,
and Rebuild efforts that are taking place in
Puerto Rico in the aftermath of Hurricane
Maria, which is still reeling from the storm’s
devastating effects more than one year later.

(D-IL.). His parents were both born in Puerto
Rico and I knew he was deeply involved in
the recovery efforts. His aides referred me to
the Puerto Rican Agenda of Chicago. I visited
their humble offices and spoke with Professor
José Lopez, their senior advisor. After I spoke
with him and met other caring, committed
people, I was convinced we were in the right
place. Our AWC did what it has always done;
helped people in need. Puerto Rico is not an
ocean away to us, it is part of who we are.
Our efforts to help Puerto Rico began immediately
after the hurricane struck and the
2017-2018 AWC Board agreed to help! I was
not surprised, just very moved. To find out
where and how we could help, I called the
