the brainchild of business<br />
partners Chad Gardner,<br />
of Winnetka, and Brad<br />
Hughes, of Northbrook,<br />
promises to take the guesswork<br />
and headache out of<br />
home maintenance. Customers<br />
sign up for the Talo<br />
service and receive access<br />
to a live 24/7 concierge,<br />
and access to Talo’s network<br />
of vetted, high-quality<br />
vendors that offer priority<br />
access and preferred<br />
pricing.<br />
“Our customers simply<br />
call, text or email their<br />
concierge and the job gets<br />
done,” Gardner said. “You<br />
can get back to living your<br />
life.”<br />
Before they launched<br />
Talo, Gardner and Hughes<br />
say they routinely struggled<br />
to research, vet and<br />
book reliable and reputable<br />
contractors. And they<br />
are not alone.<br />
“I’m always getting<br />
texts and questions from<br />
friends about who to call<br />
and what to do when<br />
something goes wrong in<br />
their home,” Gardner said.<br />
“And more often than<br />
not, we hear friends and<br />
neighbors complaining<br />
about shoddy work, unfair<br />
pricing and contractors<br />
who simply don’t show<br />
up,” adds Hughes.<br />
The pair quickly saw the<br />
need, and the idea of Talo<br />
Concierge was born.<br />
Talo helps clients with<br />
everything from routine<br />
maintenance programs like<br />
window washing and gutter<br />
cleaning, to emergency<br />
repairs and full-scale remodels.<br />
The subscriptionbased<br />
service is $300 per<br />
year.<br />
“We take away your<br />
home to-do list. We eliminate<br />
the guesswork and the<br />
time commitment to research<br />
and book the right<br />
team,” Hughes said.<br />
Talo even offers a home<br />
attendant service at an additional<br />
fee to meet service<br />
providers at a customer’s<br />
home in the event they are<br />
out of town or simply too<br />
busy.<br />
So far, customers are enthusiastic.<br />
“My wife and I have<br />
busy lives between<br />
work and raising our<br />
children,”said Mike Mancini,<br />
of Winnetka, a customer<br />
of Talo. “There are<br />
always things that need to<br />
be done around our home<br />
and I never seem to have<br />
the time to do them. I need<br />
to trust the people coming<br />
into my home and want to<br />
know they are going to do<br />
a good job the first time.<br />
Talo does all of that for<br />
me, it’s exactly what I’ve<br />
been looking for.”<br />
Talo is currently available<br />
throughout the North<br />
Shore and the team plans<br />
to expand to the city of<br />
Chicago and the Western<br />
Suburbs in early 2019.<br />
