Woodlands steps into the modern
day with revamp of functions centre
Woodlands Estate in Gordonton has
recently revamped its functions venue with
a fresh look to attract more businesses and
corporates to the historic site.
Just 15 minutes north of
Rototuna, the newly refurbished
bar and reception
lounge with its neutral palate
and modern facilities is situated
to the side of the beautiful
homestead opening onto a tranquil
sheltered garden and lawn
area.
Woodlands Estate and
events manager, Kirstie Alley,
says the new look of the
Estate’s venue has stepped into
the modern day while upholding
its elegance.
“We’ve really brought the
venue into the 21st century but
at the same time we wanted
it to remain elegant, now we
can do anything really,” said
Kirstie.
The facility has been hosting
corporate events, meetings
and special occasions such as
weddings, birthdays, anniversaries,
reunions and funerals
for 20+ years starting with a
marquee and then opening of
the current purpose-built facility
in 1999.
Over the past two years
Kirstie and her team have progressively
stripped back the
venue and it now boasts exquisite
grey panelling, white walls,
and a high arched ceiling.
The room also opens up
onto the Music Lawn that
offers customers a private
sanctuary and it is attached to
a bar area that has had the same
revamp.
