came in the form of a call to full-time
pastoral ministry. More specifically, I
want to help youth and young adults
experience the same love that I encountered
as a junior in high school. To put it
simply, the phrase “to know, to love, to
serve” is essentially just disciple-making
101 and I believe GCA is doing just that;
making life-long disciples both on this
side of eternity and the one to come.
To Love God and Those He Brings Into Our Lives…
Class of ’76 friends (left to right) Peggi Noon, Beverly Johnson Jerman, Tami Baker
Richardson, Nancy Smith Barnhart, and Carolyn Harris Dalton.
So the saying goes, “If you can count your friends on one hand you are blessed!”
GCA gave us this opportunity to make that kind of true friend. We bonded
at a time when emotions, hormones, and desires ran high, but we were in a safe
place to grow.
We are extremely grateful for the bonds we formed; a sweet connection
that has continued 45 years. We have tasted a lot of life…education, marriage,
raising children, cancer, divorce, the care of and death of our own parents-the
parents who sacrificed to send us to GCA. Through all of these life experiences
we always knew there was a GCA friend we could count on. Two of us even
have GCA husbands!
