Kathak loosely translates as ‘the art of storytelling’ and
features hypnotically intricate footwork, high energy
pirouettes and complex rhythmic patterns of beats.

Uncharted Seas takes you to the heart of classical Kathak. Dancers
weave in and out of the shadows with grace, poise and a stunning sense
of rhythm. The search for the intangible, for God, truth, beauty, love
and freedom, is the essence of Uncharted Seas. Dressed in traditional
costumes, the sounds of the ghunghroo (ankle bells) meld with the live
music, creating a distinct percussive beat that adds a unique flavour to
every performance.
