Immersion Suits
All Fladen Rescue System flotation garments are tested and
approved to the European Union Standards CE mark. There
are four EU approved Newton weight buoyancy classes – 50N
(EN393), 100N (EN395), 150N (EN396) and 275N (EN399).
The average person requires 20N–30N to stay afloat, and a
50N lifejacket will easily support the heaviest adult,
so a good fit is more important than picking the exact
weight class. Our flotation suits are certified as immersion suit
ISO 15027-1, which includes body heat retention standards.
50N - Buoyancy Aid, Flotation Jacket and Flotation Suit
ISO12402-5/ISO12402-6/EN393
Suitable for competent swimmers weighing 30kg and over when help is near. Will not turn an unconscious
person on to their back. Our flotation suits help retain body heat to prevent hypothermia.
100N - Lifejackets
ISO12402-4/EN395
This turns an unconscious person on to their back within 10 seconds, and keeps his head above the water.
Equipped with SOLAS approved reflective tape for maximum visibility. Suitable for all users and perfect for children.
150N - Inflatable Lifejacket
ISO12402-3/EN396
These are inflated only when needed, so are more comfortable when mobility is a priority. Available in manual and automatic
inflation models. The automatic model is activated by water pressure, not by getting wet. Wear outside clothing, never
under a jacket, regularly check that the CO2 cartridge is full, and has been tested. Suitable for competent swimmers
weighing 40kg and over.
275N – Offshore Automatic Inflatable Lifejacket
EN393
Inflates automatically, and when worn over a flotation suit, turns an unconscious person on to their back within 10 seconds, and
keeps his head above the water. Use when wearing heavy clothing and tools. These are worn by professional fishermen, oil rig
workers, etc. Wear outside clothing, never under a jacket, regularly check that the CO2 cartridge is full, and has been tested.
Suitable for competent swimmers weighing 40kg and over.
