BEACHCASTERS
This is almost certainly the most complex design area in fishing.
With so many choices of materials available, and differing uses
required, beach rod design has become a true technical art.
Added to this there is no such thing as a “normal” beach rod,
with lengths going from 3.3 up to 5 metres or more. Casting
weights vary enormously from the super light up to 12 to 16
ounces used in the USA for the long distance casting required to
get over reefs. However, 80 to 250 gram (2 1/2 to 8 ounce)
casting weights are usually used in the UK and Europe.
The range of rods includes fixed spool and multiplier versions, and
the beach telescopic rod is selling in bigger quantities each year.
