The Gas Market Act (OG 18/2018) – February
2018
The Act regulates the rules and measures for safe and
reliable production, transport, storage, liquefied natural
gas terminal (LNG), distribution and gas supply, supply
of LNG and/or compressed natural gas (CNG), the organization
of the gas market as part of the gas market of
the European Union and the conduct of the implementation
of this Act. This Act establishes rules relating to the
customer protection, gas sector organization and functioning,
concession for gas distribution and concession
for the construction of the distribution system. The new
Act enables a transparent selection of wholesale market
supplier, as a holder of the public service obligation and
guaranteed supplier, transparent method of setting gas
price for buyers in public service as well as regulated
price for households. It provides that underground gas
storage capacities are distributed proportionally and are
transferable.
