LIFESTYLE & DÉCOR HH
Cocktail parties might not require a formal sit-down at a beautifully set
table, but it does require some décor to set the mood.
Like for example:
Fairy lights, lanterns, candles etc. – Fairy lights,
lanterns and candles will create a soft, romantic
atmosphere to complement the festive mood.
Flowers and greenery – Mini bouquets here and
there will add a pop of colour that says: It’s summer!
Go for a theme – A theme is a great tool to help
you choose decorations. You don’t need to go
overboard. Colour/s such as white and/or gold will
do, and even the most obvious theme: Christmas!
Wow with ice – You can also take ice to the next
level by freezing edible flowers, herbs, limes, lemons
or other fruits inside.
Music – Book a talented artist or two to liven the
mood with background music.
Dress up – Make it a dress-up party i.e. semi-formal
or a fun dress up theme and ask your guests to get
babysitters for the night.
Making it extra special
More than just a drink – Supply your guests with
beautiful pieces of fruit such as pomegranate seeds,
blueberries or strawberries to “garnish” champagne/
sparkling wine for example. Rosemary, lemons, blood
oranges and mint look great with gin and tonics.
Serve craft beer and wine in beautiful glasses.
Tip:
You don’t have to supply
everything. Especially if the
numbers of guest tally up. The
traditional “chop and dop”
concept could also work here.
