Contests
Prizes announced for 22nd Century
Media’s Holiday Card Contest
Entrants have two
opportunities to
win: Best in Show,
Funniest
Bill Jones, Managing Editor
Oh, so you’re those kind
of gift-givers, huh? Don’t
want to send us a card until
you know what you might
get in return?
That’s not exactly in the
Christmas spirit, but we get
it.
The 2018 Holiday Card
Contest is already underway,
but this week we promised
the announcement of prizes.
And, as promised, you will
find the full prize list for
each category in the accompanying
sidebar.
As a recap, the contest
asks you to send us your best
homemade Christmas cards,
the most boastful of yearend
letters (snark the halls, if
that’s your thing), children’s
drawings to be left with
cookies for Santa, photos of
your co-workers in reindeer
antlers and noses, crafty
Kwanzaa greetings or Hanukkah
Hallmarks — basically,
whatever it is you send
to your loved ones to make
sure they get something in
the mail around the holidays
other than stale fruitcakes
from distant relatives, magazine
subscription renewal
notices and Columbia House
compact discs.
Whatever it is you do for
the people you love during
the holidays (just the PG-
13 stuff, please), simply address
these things to Managing
Editor Bill Jones, and
mail them to 11516 W. 183rd
St. Unit SW Office Condo
3, Orland Park, IL, 60467.
well as your hometown.
for holiday mail service.
The entries will be evaluated
by our editorial staff
and judged in two categories:
Best in Show and Funniest,
so tell us in which
This was the last community
workshop in this stage of
development. Soon the Village
will begin establishing
a more formal outline with
drafts and a written plan,
which will be shared with the
community along the way.
He also noted that with any
type of large project, no matter
how far down the road,
there are concerns from people
in the community.
“I think what we’ve heard
from people is that we need to
be sensitive in terms of how
we develop that and change
that,” Brown said, “So that
we minimize any impacts
to people that already live
around that property.”
