He had his first piano lesson at the age of 4 and is currently studying with Dr. Soo Young Lee of Music Institute of Chicago. This young pianist had recently won the Carmel Klavier International Piano Competition (Concerto division). He is also a prize winner of the 2018 Illinois State Piano Competition. Wang has a full cabinet for trophies, gold medals, and other honors from various competitions. On the day of the recital, despite of the rain and the wind, family, friends, teachers, and neighbors showed up to support the young pianist. Wang performed the music by Bach, Mozart, Chopin, and Bartok. “At the recital, the excitement overcame the nerve” Wang said. “I tried my best and I think I did very well. It is such an amazing feeling that I am able to share my music with the community.” RIGHT: The Romona Elementary School second-grader bows to the crowd after the performance.
