Fewer contracts concluded in 2017.
The largest single transaction in 2017 was a Daimler AG new building project in Leinfelden-Echterdingen.
The “Daimler Truck Campus” being constructed on the site represents some 50 000 m² of
floor space and is scheduled for completion in 2020/2021.
Decline in the small area
segment
A total of 261 contracts were concluded
in the period to 31.12.2017, with
the third quarter displaying particularly
strong performance – 92 contracts
and take-up of approx. 109 000
m². The < 500 m² segment experienced
a significant decline in the number
of contracts concluded – 165 compared
to 226 in the previous year. This
represents a reduction of some 30 %.
A key reason for this is the scarcity of
properties of this size. There was also
a significant decline in the number of
contracts concluded in the 501 to 1
000 m² segment, while the number of
larger letting contracts was also modest
in 2017 – only six contracts were
concluded in the size segment from 2
000 to 5 000 m². Nine contracts were
concluded for premises > 5.000 m²,
however accounted for some 45 % of
total take-up. The number of lettings
in the 1 001 to 2 000 m² segment also
increased, with some 63 % more space
let than in 2016.
