MEET YOUR DIRECTORS
BERNIE FRIEDENFELS
Owner, Bernie’s Well & Water, LLC, Baileys Harbor
FAMILY: Bernie, wife, Sandy, son age 13 and daughter age
19. All are happy and healthy.
FAVORITE HOLIDAY TRADITION: The kids always decorate
the tree and always take it down. Mom supervises.
FIRST JOB: A rod man on a survey crew for Ayres and
Associates during the summer in high school.
CAREER CHOICE: Our family made a move to Door County,
which is home for my wife who grew up in a family that
owned a plumbing company. She called them and said she
was moving back to Door County and her husband needed a
job. They were looking for an apprentice. I started one week
later.
CELEBRITY CONNECTION: Mike Daniels, defensive tackle
for the Green Bay Packers. When Mike was a rookie with the
Packers, he came to speak at the local Lions Club dinner in
Sister Bay for the Boy Scouts, which my son was part of. It is
an annul event and quite small. There are many autograph
and photo opportunities. We stayed at the end of the line to
get more conversation time. We spent a half hour visiting
with him, got a family photo and
had a great time. Of all of the
Packers players we’ve met, Mike
was one of the most personable.
MOST ADMIRED PERSON: My
wife of 26 years. She keeps it all
together – the kids, school work,
her job, family finances, keeps the
fridge full, does my books and still
makes time for me.
BEST PLACE VISITED: The
peaks of the Grand Tetons in a
single engine airplane with my wife on our honeymoon.
FUTURE AMBITION: Hone my culinary skills. We like to
entertain and I need to expand my skills.
COLLECTIONS: Wine corks, one or two at a time.
CHARITIES: Local nonprofits that benefit kids.

RICE KRISPIES OR FROSTED FLAKES: Rice Krispy Treats
BASEBALL OR FOOTBALL: Whatever the season and
sport my son is playing.

a jobsite. He came to give a
campaign speech while we were there.
BEST PLACE VISITED: Sturgis, South Dakota, and the Black
Hills area.
FUTURE AMBITION: Build my own house.

BEACH OR MOUNTAINS: Beach in the winter and
mountains in the summer.
