Industry NEWS CALL FOR NOMINATIONS Would you be interested in joining the PHCC Board of Directors? Representatives from PHCC Wisconsin member companies can nominate themselves or other members for board positions. Interested individuals will be asked to complete a brief Board Interest Survey to help the Nominating Committee learn more about the candidate. The Board Interest Surveys are available by contacting Jeff Beiriger at the PHCC-WI office at (888) 782-6815 x1 or mail@phcc-wi. org and should be returned by Jan. 15, 2019. Directors attend five to six meetings each year (often at interesting locations like those on page 42) and do additional work between meetings to advance the industry and the organization. The experience is deeply rewarding on a personal and professional level with opportunities to network with industry leaders and develop the policies and strategies that advance the industry and the profession. iStockphoto.com/altmodern RECRUITING UPDATE PHCC Wisconsin recently joined the Wisconsin Veterans Chamber of Commerce to support that organization and its efforts and to learn more about ways that we can enhance the link between veterans and careers in the trades. PHCC Wisconsin will be on the radio before long, talking about careers in the plumbing and HVAC trades. We’ve been asked to work with one of the Wisconsin Public Radio program hosts to develop a segment on careers in the trades. There’s a lot we can talk about, that’s for certain! RANDY LORGE HONORED Congratulations to Randy Lorge of Plumbers & Steamfitters Local 400. Randy was presented with the Industry Person of the Year Award at IAPMO’s 89th Annual Education and Business Conference in Philadelphia earlier this year. Lorge has played a key role in the Community Plumbing Challenge in India, South Africa, Indonesia and most recently, New Mexico.
