As the New Year begins, we here at the Currituck
Chamber of Commerce are excited about the possibilities
for growth and how we can further serve our members
and community. One such opportunity is sharing
member events with readers here.
December was full of fun. We had many come out to
support new member Currituck County Arts Council as
they hosted a Business After Hours Event. We all had a
wonderful time meeting new members, enjoying great
food and music, and learning about all the Arts Council
does for our community. Many thanks to all who came
out to support Midgette Auto Sales as they also hosted a
Business After Hours Event in recognition of their great
achievement of 50 years of service. At this event, Jody
Midgette was presented with an outstanding achievement
letter, presented by Trey Lewis MPA, Northeast Regional
Representative, Office of U.S. Senator Thom Tillis.
Looking forward, we have our monthly small business
roundtable discussion the third Tuesday of each month.
This month’s guest speaker will be Leslie Lewis, Business
Services Advisor for Carolina Small Business Development
Fund. Ms. Lewis will be discussing small business
development and preparation tips for your small business
for the New Year, including financial forecasting, managing
cash flow, and finding the right finances to achieve your
business goals. Please join us at Southland Restaurant,
Tuesday, January 15th at 8:00am. Don’t forget your business
cards!
Come congratulate a new business owner in our
neighborhood! We applaud Megan Goettge Gwin, owner
of Learn & Love CPR, LLC for building her dream and
investing in our community. Join us Tuesday, January
29th 5:30pm to 7:00pm at the Chamber office located at
111D Commercial Drive in Moyock for a ribbon cutting
ceremony.
