2018/19 #14 - 22nd December 2018 - Ashington v. Sunderland RCA

2018 has seen a lot of
progress off the pitch
too thanks to the hard
work of our volunteers –
most recently a fantastic
offering to the Wansbeck
Valley Foodbank to
support the new initiative
set up by Ashington
CFC.
I think the biggest step
forward is the direction
the club is now heading in, especially in the latter stages of the year. As
a junior club we now have an ambitious 5-year development plan which
will see some big changes to the club as the whole to further improve the
all-round experience our members receive, further establishing Ashington
CFC Juniors as one of THE places to play junior football in the North
East.
The every-growing ties between
our juniors set up
and the senior set up at
Ashington CFC is probably
the biggest positive to come
out of 2018. Having myself
and Lynne Bell join the senior
executive committee and
Ashington CFC Chairman
Brian Shotton join our junior
committee is a real step forward
for both clubs. A lot of hard work has and will continue to go on behind
the scenes to see our ‘One Club’ vision come into fruition.
To conclude, 2018 has shown real glimpses of a good future for Ashington
CFC, both for the juniors and the senior sides, with new ambitious
plans in place and the hardworking members and volunteers who go
above and beyond for the club.
