New Parish Council Grounds Person<br />
<strong>The</strong> Parish Council has agreed to employ a<br />
part time Grounds Maintenance operative<br />
from 1st April this year. Having reviewed<br />
the financial implications and being aware<br />
that there is an increasing amount of work<br />
to be undertaken on Parish Council owned<br />
land, the Council agreed that it would be<br />
prudent to make this change to current<br />
arrangements. For more details of the<br />

Meet Parish Councillor Jane Coster<br />
Cllr Coster was co-opted onto the Parish<br />
Council in <strong>Mar</strong>ch last year.<br />
Jane has lived in<br />
the village for<br />
over ten years<br />
and visited for<br />
decades<br />
through family<br />
connections.<br />

businesses. She is particularly keen to<br />
ensure that our hedgerows and verges are<br />
looked after as this has a huge impact on<br />
birds; she has battled to ensure that when<br />
damage has been caused, it is rectified<br />
promptly.<br />
Jane loves to watch not only our local birds<br />
but those that stop over en route and<br />
returning from their winter holidays.<br />
Parish Council Elections<br />
Elections for new Parish Councillors are<br />
scheduled to take place on 2 nd May <strong>2019</strong>.<br />
If you are interested in becoming a local<br />
Parish Councillor for the next four-year<br />
term and make a difference to your<br />
community, please contact the Parish<br />
Office. More details on the responsibilities<br />
and the remit of this unpaid role, along<br />
with details of the application process will<br />
be available from the Parish Office or the<br />
website (milfordonsea.org.uk) from<br />
<strong>Feb</strong>ruary.<br />
Jane first<br />
became<br />
involved in local<br />
politics when she became one of the<br />
founding members of Protect Milford’s<br />
Heritage, a group set up to oppose the<br />
overdevelopment of Ravens Way. <strong>The</strong><br />
group then continued to support other<br />
residents in the village with their battles<br />
where potential developments would<br />
adversely impact their lives. Jane then<br />
continued to attend some Parish Council<br />
meetings and the AGMs to get a better<br />
understanding of how local politics worked.<br />
