Superintendent News
By Dr. Joseph Beeson
Dear Parents:
I certainly enjoyed my evening on Saturday with our high school students at the Winter Formal. It appeared that each one
was enjoying the time together with his/her friends. One special blessing we must remember at Lake Center Christian
School is that we have a common bond with one another - His Spirit that live in us. Our children will benefit from that
same bond as they connect with friends from like minded homes. This encouragement and bonding should strengthen us
for the task ahead - impacting our world for Christ.
Preschool - 6 th Grade Information
By Mrs. Stock
Dear Families,
With Valentine’s Day quickly approaching we are reminded often of the call to love one another, of the need to
share our appreciation for those around us. Valentine’s Day causes me to reflect on how thankful I am for a God
that loves us always. His love is not reserved for one day a year! I am thankful that His Word calls us to love Him
with all our heart, mind and strength and to love our neighbor as we love ourselves. This is something we are called
to do always throughout every day. So though it is fun to celebrate, I pray that we will remember to tell Our Savior
-and those around us- continuously of our love for them.
Reminders
• The Matthew 25 challenge for grades 1-3 will take place next week. See class newsletters for more information.
VARSITY GIRLS BASKETBALL
Due to the snowdays, the Lady Tigers only got one game in on the week. They competed against the always-competitive,
East Canton Wizards. In an exciting, up and down game, the Wizards eventually pulled
away with a 70-59 victory. Kennedy Haubert and Hannah Mang both led the way offensively with 24 points
apiece. The squad will have a busy week ahead of them with four games scheduled! The Lady Tigers also
earned the 4-seed in the OHSAA DIV Girls Basketball Norwayne District, the best seed they’ve ever earned.
Tournament play will begin the week of February 18 th . Additional details will be sent out at a later date.
Week Results: East Canton Wizards (L, 59-70)
VARSITY BOYS BASKETBALL
The Tigers played against two very good teams throughout the week. The first was against PTC-County
leading, Rootstown. In a game that was close early on, the Rovers pulled away in the second half and won
77-65. Three Tigers reached double-figures in the game: Adam Nowak (19), Blake Sommers (16), and Payton
Triplett (15). The squad hoped to bounce back as they traveled to Valley Christian just three days later.
Unfortunately, in a low-scoring game, the Eagles were able to defeat the Tigers 50-35. Payton Triplett led
the team in scoring that game with 16. The Tigers will look get back to their winning ways in a PTC-County
matchup against Crestwood this week.
Week Results: Rootstown Rovers (L, 65-77), Valley Christian Eagles (L, 35-50)
