Arman Santizo, 15, is a
sophomore who plays
basketball for Malibu High
School.
From last year to this
one, where would you
say you most improved
as a player?
Controlling the pace I
play at and not playing out
of control.
How did you deal with
having a bigger role
this year?
I practiced a ton over
the summer knowing that
many people would leave
[the team]. It helped having
[teammate] Tanner Sausser
there to guide me.
What do you like about
playing for coach Luke
Davis?
He let us play our way.
Our style.
Do you have a favorite
NBA player?
[Golden State Warriors
guard] Steph Curry. He’s
just such a great player and
he’s a great shooter.
Who were your role
models growing up?
My mom and older
brother.
What are your hobbies
outside of basketball?
I like to draw and make
music with my brother.
What’s your least
favorite food?
I really don’t have a least
favorite food, but I do hate
tomatoes.
If you could have one
superpower, what
would it be and why?
Probably super speed or
teleportation because it can
get me to the place I need to
be in no time.
What’s your favorite
place to eat in Malibu?
Bui Sushi.
What was it like to
play with a bunch of
new teammates after
so many key players
graduated last year?
It was definitely a challenge
because new chemistry
has to be evolved and
we rarely had practice time
together.
