N E W Y E A R - N E W P L A N
A New Year is an opportunity to reflect on the year that has been and to dream about what
lies ahead. For Salvos Blueprint 102, this means continuing to build on our current work and
to look at new ways we can benefit the community. Last year, we focused on creating a
family-friendly dining room space at Salvos Café 102. We are hoping to build on this by
joining the City of Ballarat family-friendly initiative.
In 2018, we developed Ballarat Salvos magazine, started a Salvos Blueprint 102 Instagram
page and grew our Facebook page. It has been wonderful connecting with businesses,
community leaders and community members on these forums. For 2019, we will continue to
grow in these areas. They offer opportunities to share what we do at The Salvation Army
across the Church and social services programs.
We will continuing our volunteer programs: Grocery Box, Salvos Café 102, Tribe Lunches and
the Thrift Shops. Volunteers predominantly run these programs. This year, we will be
looking at new ways to demonstrate our appreciation and engage new volunteers. We will
also be working towards a self-sufficient Grocery Box program by collaborating with more
businesses, continuing our fundraising activities and hosting a special twilight festival.
We would like to thank the ongoing support of the community—volunteers, businesses,
community leaders and clients—because of you, we can dream big. We look forward to a
New Year with new plans.
