Dear Parents:
Superintendent News
By Dr. Joseph Beeson
Last week I had the privilege of attending the Global Christian School Leaders Summit in San Antonio, Texas. Over 1,100
delegates from around the world joined together for learning, worship, and encouragement. The enthusiasm with which
our brothers and sisters embrace Christian education challenged me yet again. In many African countries, hundreds of
Christian schools are springing up. In India, Christian education is being provided to ALL children, not just the upper
class of the society. In Cambodia and Thailand children are being rescued from human trafficking and given an education
centered in Christ. The answer to the world’s problems isn’t political, it is relational - a relationship with Jesus Christ. Let
us not forget how blessed we are to be able to have a Christian school like Lake Center Christian School.
Preschool - 6 th Grade Information
By Mrs. Stock
Dear Families,
This week our 1 st -3 rd grade students are taking part in the Matthew 25 Challenge. This challenge gives them the opportunity
to experience poverty on a small scale and pray for a child from another country that is living without.
The Matthew 25 Challenge is something we are called to every day. There will always be people we know who need
our help. By serving in love we bring honor to Christ.
I am so excited for the great learning I know is going to happen this week. Parents are welcome to attend our chapel
to hear testimonies from the week!
February 18 th we will have off school to celebrate Presidents’ Day.
February 22 nd is early dismissal due to ACSI Elementary Speech Meet. No lunch will be served.
Lost and Found items will be donated at the end of this week on Friday. Please check for missing items before then.
We will be celebrating Dr. Seuss Day on March 1 st .
* Please remember that we have backpacks available for those families that need them. They are outside of Mrs.
Keene’s office. Please feel free to take a bag if you or a family you know is in need.
Have an amazing week!
CAFETERIA NEWS:
There are five components to a reimbursable meal: Meat, Bread, Milk, Fruit, Vegetable. A student has to take
three of the five to make a meal. No one has to take a milk at lunch. However, if they choose not to have a
milk, they must pay for the water, if they get it. Under USDA there are no substitutions for milk unless a child
has a life threatening allergy with written documentation from a physician. Students may also just purchase ala
carte items. Elementary may have (1) fruit and (1) vegetable with their lunch. 7-12 may have (2) fruits and (2)
vegetables with their lunch. Grades 5-12 may choose from main dish, pizza, chicken patty, hamburger, cheeseburger,
chef salad, or deli sandwich, or pb&j. PK-4 can have main dish, hot dog, pb&j or chef salad.
VARSITY GIRLS BASKETBALL:
The Lady Tigers had an extremely busy week with four games in all, and a very successful one at that! After
rattling off three wins in a row on the week against Rootstown, Valley Christian and Youngstown Chaney,
they dropped their final game of the week against Crestwood. The Tigers, who now sit at 13-7 on the year, enjoyed
a record-setting night against Chaney on Thursday. With their win, they set a new single-season record
for wins, which was previously 12! The team still has two regular season games left with the OHSAA District
Tournament to follow. The Tigers earned the 4-seed and a bye in the first round of the Tournament and will
play host to the Sectional Final Game on Saturday, February 23 rd .
Week Results: Rootstown Rovers (W, 64-52), Valley Christian Eagles (W, 58-53), Chaney (W, 65-32), Crestwood
Red Devils (L, 30-46)
VARSITY BOYS BASKETBALL:
The Tigers just had one game on the week against PTC-County opponent, Crestwood. In a game that the
Tigers led early on, the Red Devils eventually took the lead with under a minute left in regulation. The Tigers
made a last-second effort to tie the game, but could not connect and lost, 50-47. Adam Nowak led the scoring
attack with 13 in the game while Payton Triplett added 12. The Tigers will look to bounce back with a busy
week ahead against Central Christian, Southeast and Oak Hill in the Mercy Medical Classic at North Canton
Hoover.
Week Results: Crestwood Red Devils (L, 47-50)
