Easter escapes
Pubs, period properties and places by the sea are providing us with the
perfect excuse for an Easter getaway! And it doesn't matter if the sun doesn't
shine, the rain falls or the wind blows because when you receive a warm
welcome, have a comfortable guest room and are excited by the super food
to follow, the scene is set for an enjoyable Easter escape.
As the long bank holiday weekend falls late in April, signs of spring should
certainly be in abundance and the promise of blue skies and warming
sunshine will add to the appeal of an Easter break for many people.
The Royal Oak at Keswick
KESWICK, CUMBRIA CA12 5HZ
For lovers of the Lake District and fans of craft
ales, picking a pub in Keswick for a few nights
justify your stay, you're in the right place to roam
the hills and ramble round Derwentwater. If you
prefer the comforting glow of an open fireplace
and a good book for company, you're in the
right place too! Pick the 18th century Royal Oak
for your stay and you're following in the footsteps
of literary giants such as Sir Walter Scott, Lord
fabulous power shower or a bath.
The bar stocks real ale from Thwaites Brewery
the best of Cumbrian produce. Breakfast is a real
winner here too having made it into Britain's Best
Pub Cooked Breakfast!
CLUMBER PARK MUTHU HOTEL AND SPA
WORKSOP, NOTTINGHAMSHIRE S80 3PA
We never need an excuse to stick our toes into
the splendid spa facilities available in the UK
and as Mother's Day is just around the corner,
it's the perfect time to see what therapies and
treatments are available for mums! Whether the
prescription is a remedy for tired feet, releasing
tension in an aching back or saying goodbye to
winter with a facial for a beautiful spring time
glow, we have the place to welcome mums to
that calm world of white robes and essential oils.
And the icing on the cake; what could be better
than a head to toe pampering in the beautiful
English countryside?
Clumber Park Muthu Hotel and Spa is next to the
legendary Sherwood Forest and nestled among
the famous forest trees, at one with nature is the
hotel's New Leaf Spa. Along with six treatment
rooms, there's an indoor heated pool with a
whirlpool, a sauna, steam room and an outdoor
hot tub. The spa also has an enclosed garden
they prefer this to the peaceful relaxation lounge
inside. With a dedicated café too, once at the
hotel's spa there is really little reason to leave!
Mums are sure to fall in love with the signature
New Leaf Spa full body massage which is 55
minutes of easing every ache to awaken the
senses! The full body exfoliation is equally good
too and leaves skin feeling refreshed, rehydrated
and radiant.
local tourist attractions as well as Sherwood
Forest. Once at the spa, guests enjoy a delicious
cream tea and their chosen treatment. This
horse and spa experience starts from £45 and is
sure to make a memorable Mother's Day gift.
If Ride and Relax sounds a little too strenuous,
the Ladies of Leisure half day experience is
available during the week. It offers a choice of
either a New Leaf full body exfoliation with a
file and polish for either the hands or feet, or
alternatively, a New Leaf serene scalp massage.
The experience includes cream tea and full
use of the spa facilities and gym between
9.00am - 1.00pm. Prices start from £55.
pregnancy massage and lunch in the Spa café.
A Jessica prescriptive manicure or pedicure can
be added on too for a further £25 each.
The New Leaf Spa has many more treatments
and experiences available but booking in
advance is definitely recommended, especially
for the weekends. Guests staying at the hotel on
a spa break package can use the facilities from
