The Buddy Beat<br />

A mental health drumming group based in Johnstone for<br />

anyone in Renfrewshire<br />

We promote social inclusion and our group offers a safe place for people to<br />

drum the blues away. Our group is open 50 weeks of the year on Thursdays,<br />

10am - 12noon at our base in The Johnstone Hugh Parish Church Halls, just of<br />

Ludovic Square. It gives people a focus, and a future and has led people into<br />

other community groups, volunteering, education and employment.<br />

We also have a monthly Open Night at The Charleston Centre in Paisley, 6pm to<br />

7.45pm. It is free for anyone to come along and try our drums. No experience<br />

A feast of music with youngsters (and their tutors) from the Fèis Phàislig group,<br />

plus singer Alison O’Neill, clàrsach player Neil Wood and the ladies of the Largs<br />

Gaeic Choir.<br />

Get Your Dancing<br />

Shoes On<br />

The OIR Dance Group meet on a Monday at 1.30pm<br />

in the Clark Memorial Hall, Largs. Dancing consists<br />

of Ballroom, Sequence, Old Time and Scottish.<br />

All new members are made welcome, so dust off your old dance shoes and<br />

come along and join us, come alone or bring a partner.<br />

Stallholders wanted for<br />

Spring Arts & Crafts Fair<br />

Johnstone Town Hall Spring Arts & Crafts Fair 20<strong>19</strong><br />

We hope the event will attract local gift shoppers from Johnstone and will<br />

provide an appropriate retail outlet for artists and craftspeople. The fair will run<br />

from Friday 15th <strong>March</strong> – Saturday 16th <strong>March</strong>, open from 11am until 4pm.<br />

Please take a look at the exhibitor information and if you would like to participate,<br />

complete and return the booking form no later than Monday 4th <strong>March</strong>. There<br />

is no requirement to send payment at this stage. No bookings will be confi rmed<br />

until the initial booking deadline of Monday 4th <strong>March</strong> has passed.<br />

The Town Hall hosts a range of different services with over 150 staff and<br />

features an onsite café, library and a multitude of meeting room. We would<br />

like this to become an annual event in the Johnstone Town Hall calendar and<br />

plan to host similar events throughout the year.<br />
