Green Bay Cycles raises funds, awareness of cancer
Owner to take part
in upcoming charity
ride in Italy

Most folks know Green
Bay Cycles as the premier
bicycle shop on the North
Shore. Family owned
since 2010 with an extremely
knowledgeable
staff and top-of-the-line
products, it’s no surprise
that Green Bay Cycles has
been named one of America’s
Best Bike Shops six
years in a row.
On Feb. 24, Green Bay
Cycles gave the community
another wonderful
reason to visit the store.
Owner Pam Faulkner,
along with her husband
Larry, hosted Snow Much
Fun, a Women V Cancer
Benefit Event.
Featuring a homemade
pancake breakfast, as well
as a Fat Bike Ride, the
Faulkners worked hard to
raise money for a cause
near and dear to their
hearts.
Recently, cancer
personally touched
Faulkner’s family.
“I’ve been really fortunate
in my life that up
until the past year none of
the women in my family
have been touched by cancer,”
Pam said. “And last
year, our daughter-in-law
was diagnosed with breast
cancer and so now it has
touched my family personally.
So, where I used
to ride in gratitude for the
fact that my family hasn’t
had to deal with this, now
it’s a part of my family’s
story as well.”
With a love for cooking,
Faulkner put on her chef
hat that Sunday morning
and from 8:30-11 a.m.,
she welcomed guests to a
delicious pancake breakfast.
With a donation of
$10 for adults and $5 for
kids 2-12, guests indulged
in homemade pancakes,
sausage, bacon, hot chocolate
and coffee.
With a good-sized gathering
of loyal and generous
family, friends and
customers, the pancake
breakfast raised nearly
$500 for Women V Cancer.
Pam said she cherishes
the connections she has
made with the community
through owning the shop,
and greatly appreciate
the platform she has been
given to share her knowledge
on the fight against
cancer.
“Through owning the
store and doing these
rides, I’ve been able to
carry the message of how
important it is for women
to support other women
in the struggles they may
be enduring,” she added.
“And how important it
is to continue to raise
awareness to help with

the prevention the treatment
and the cure for
cancer.”
While this is the first
Snow Much Fun benefit
Green Bay Cycles has
hosted, Pam herself is no
stranger to these events.
In fact, she will be participating
in the Women
V Cancer charity bike
ride in Italy this coming
May. Self-funding her
trip abroad, Pam’s ride
will take her from Milan
to Venice where she will
be joined by other women
from around the world to
ride in this exciting challenge.
Pam’s husband Larry
has always been a huge
supporter of his wife and
enjoys seeing the community
rally around her,
as well.
“We are very happy
to have our customers
come in and support this
cause. It’s always nice to
do things in the store and
anything we can do with
our customers is awesome,”
he said.
After miles upon miles
of riding, Pam will donate
all her hard work efforts
to Women V Cancer
which was started in 2010
in the UK. Since then,
thousands of women have
cycled countless distances
both in the UK and all
around the world to raise
money for three female
cancer charities: Ovarian
Cancer Action, Breast
Cancer Care and Jo’s Cervical
Cancer Trust. The
goal of Women V Cancer
is to help raise funds for
these three charities, raise
