6 | March 7, 2019 | The winnetka Current NEWS winnetkacurrent.com Police Reports Two Winnetka clothing stores report shoplifting An unknown offender stole a purse, worth $249, between 4:15-4:45 p.m. Feb. 22 from KMK Luxury Consignment, 561 ½ Lincoln Ave., Winnetka. Between 5-5:05 p.m. the same day, a dress, worth $330, was reported stolen at Valentina, 566 Chestnut St. In other police news: Winnetka Feb. 15 • A victim’s personal identifiers were used to open multiple cell phone carrier accounts and loans without authorization between Jan. 28-Feb. 15. The amount of loss is unknown. Feb. 20 • Julius J. Whittaker, 38, of Evanston, was arrested for driving with a suspended driver’s license and cited for only one functioning taillight at 1:27 a.m. at the intersection of Hill and DeWindt roads. His court date is March 6. • A victim’s personal identifiers were used to open a Visa card and make purchases, worth $803, between 10:50-11:01 a.m. Feb. 18 • An unknown offender stole a victim’s earring that had fallen on the floor between 12:15-12:45 p.m. at Peet’s Coffee, 819 Elm St. The amount of loss is unknown. Northfield Feb. 24 • Juhyun Kim, 26, of Chicago, was arrested for speeding 26 mph or more over the limit (58 mph in a 30 mph zone) at 8:18 a.m. on Willow Road. His court date is April 10. Feb. 21 • Norman Galeana, 27, of Chicago, was arrested for driving while license suspended and speeding (50 mph in a 30 mph zone) at 3:45 a.m. at the intersection of Willow Road and Bracken Lane. Her court date is March 28. Feb. 20 • Mario Velez, 40, of Waukegan, was arrested for driving while license suspended and operating a vehicle while using a handheld electronic device at 11:19 a.m. in the 1600 block of Willow Road. His court date is March 28. • An unregistered solicitor was reported at 2:02 p.m. at the intersection of Ingram Street and Drury Lane. Officers located the solicitor and advised them a permit was required to solicit in Northfield. The solicitor agreed to stop until a permit was obtained. • A resident was a victim of identity theft. The case is under investigation. Feb. 19 • A Northfield logistics company reported a load of freight never arrived at its destination at 12:39 p.m. Officers contacted the trucking company and verified the freight had arrived and was accounted for.
