INVESTING IN CHESHIRE WEST AND CHESTER<br />

Chester, one of England’s finest heritage cities,<br />

and the <strong>Cheshire</strong> West area is a renowned<br />

the area is one of the most sought-after business<br />

loc<strong>at</strong>ions in the UK.<br />

Demonstr<strong>at</strong>ed by the presence of major n<strong>at</strong>ional<br />

and intern<strong>at</strong>ional names including Essar, T<strong>at</strong>a<br />

Chemicals, Vauxhall Motors, Jiffy Packaging, and<br />

Ecolab – <strong>Cheshire</strong> West and Chester is also an<br />

established financial centre of excellence with<br />

Bank of America, Virgin Money and Marks and<br />

Spencer Money all calling Chester home.<br />

<strong>Cheshire</strong> West and Chester Council is a<br />

Major investment has taken place in Ellesmere<br />

Port, part of the successful <strong>Cheshire</strong> Science<br />

Helukabel – industrial and specialist R&D facilities<br />

opportunities exist including:<br />

Ellesmere Port - sites exist across the key loc<strong>at</strong>ions<br />

in Newbridge Road Ellesmere Port comprising<br />

of a mixture of public and Council owned plots,<br />

approxim<strong>at</strong>ely 10 acres is currently available for a<br />

variety of industrial and commercial uses.<br />

Ellesmere Port w<strong>at</strong>erfront - three mixed use<br />

sites comprising up to 11 acres are available <strong>at</strong><br />

a key w<strong>at</strong>erside loc<strong>at</strong>ion. A prime development<br />

opportunity with excellent connectivity and access<br />

to over 10 million customers within a 1-hour drive<br />

time. Potential for a range of uses particularly<br />

leisure and commercial.<br />

Winsford – several new developments including<br />

17 acres of industrial land with planning for<br />

industrial and/or distribution. And a further<br />

2.9 acres suitable for a variety of roadside uses<br />

– str<strong>at</strong>egically loc<strong>at</strong>ed close to the M6 north/south.<br />

In Winsford a £5 million infrastructure scheme has<br />

been completed bringing forward 30ha of land<br />

for manufacturing businesses. Anchor tenant<br />

Tiger Trailers has committed to a £20 million<br />

investment into growing its business on the site.<br />

Elsewhere the Council is spearheading a number<br />

of other major investments including phase one<br />

of the Northg<strong>at</strong>e development in the heart of<br />

Chester city providing mixed use opportunities;<br />

retail-led Barons Quay Northwich and Winsford<br />

Cross Shopping Centre. Further expansion<br />

opportunities exist <strong>at</strong> phase 2 of g<strong>at</strong>eway scheme,<br />

City Place, adjacent to Chester railway st<strong>at</strong>ion.<br />
