Having the highest skilled population across the
North of England, around 44% of the resident
working age population are qualified to degree
level or above. And, with 15 Universities within
a 30-mile radius, there is access to 200,000

expertise to the 42,000 businesses thriving in
Cheshire & Warrington.
It’s a place that doesn’t stand still and in the past
decade has seen transformational investment
in vital infrastructure, improving connectivity
across road, air and rail and increasing digital
capabilities.
By 2040 Cheshire & Warrington aims to have
doubled the size of its economy, with 120,000
more jobs created and 127,000 new homes built,
and with a wealth of investment opportunities
there has never been a better time to invest.
Opportunities including the Cheshire Science
Corridor, the Energy Innovation District, HS2
Crewe Hub, Warrington New City and the Mersey-
Dee Axis all make for interesting, cutting-edge

The arrival of HS2 to Crewe in 2027 will bring

the most connected place in the UK when the
Hub is complete – Crewe will be the only place
in the country that can be reached in less than
30 minutes from Manchester, Liverpool and
