Specialists Show How Continuous Processes Save Time Second Symposium on Continuous Manufacturing Ennigerloh was the hotspot for more than 40 experts and users from the pharmaceutical industry in September: L. B. Bohle Maschinen + Verfahren GmbH had issued an invitation to the second “Continuous Pharmaceutical Manufacturing” symposium. Modern sensor technology as well as new analysis and measurement methods combined with the special machine manufacturer’s classic expertise were on the agenda. “Together with our partners and in close exchange with scientists, we are at the technological forefront of continuous processes for the pharmaceutical industry,” reports Executive Director Tim Remmert. “For drug manufacturers, continuous processes mean faster product launches, flexible production even of small batches, and the highest precision and quality,” adds Thorsten Wesselmann, Executive Director. This saves the pharmaceutical industry time and money. Outstanding mix of theory and practice The three-day workshop’s program included lectures by renowned pharmaceutical experts such as Prof. Dr. Peter Kleinebudde from the Heinrich-Heine-University in Düsseldorf, Martin Warman and Guistino Di Pretoro as well as practical sessions on the QbCon ® modules. “It is important for us to highlight the functionality and flexibility of Qb- Con ® in addition to the theory. We are the only supplier able to guarantee continuous manufacturing using the direct compression, dry and wet granulation process steps,” emphasises Dr. Robin Meier, Scientific Director. Cross-process measuring and control The Technology Center, which L. B. Bohle established in March 2015 as a platform for the development of innovative continuous manufacturing processes, provides the perfect conditions for these kinds of conferences, seminars and workshops. Customers, scientists and cooperation partners from all over the world like using this unique facility for testing purposes. “Cross-process measuring, testing and controlling of production are the basis for the success of continuous processes in the pharmaceutical industry,” explains Thorsten Wesselmann. Together with partners from industry and research, L.B. Bohle provides an ideal environment to support companies on their way to continuous manufacturing.
