Happy, friendly and outgoing<br />
Ricky Dane Chapman was born at<br />
the Stettler Hospital on Dec. 12, 1977, at<br />
7:55 p.m.<br />
His brother Ryan and cousin Sean<br />
could hardly wait for him to come<br />
home.<br />
Ricky was a very pretty baby and Dr.<br />
Karia said he should have been a girl<br />
and teased Ricky about it for years.<br />
Ricky just laughed.<br />
Ricky was a happy<br />
active baby who grew into<br />
a happy active boy.<br />

ran around the farm<br />
always together and when<br />
Damian came along and<br />
got big enough, he went<br />
with them too.<br />
They were all as close<br />
as brothers ever could be.<br />
Ricky could not wait to<br />
start school.<br />

It is with great sadness the<br />
family announce the sudden<br />
passing of John Annas at the<br />
age of 87, at the Wetaskiwin<br />
Hospital.<br />
He is survived by his<br />
daughters, Geraldine (Barry)<br />
Johnson, Karen (Forrest)<br />
Wright, Shelley (Doug)<br />
Klinger; son, Douglas<br />
(Michelle) Annas; grandchildren,<br />
Heather, Michael<br />
(Samantha), Kyla<br />
(Jeff), Kristyn,<br />
Stuart (Shawna),<br />
Christopher<br />
(Nicole) and<br />
Caitlyn (Zack).<br />
He is also survived<br />
by six great<br />
grandchildren;<br />
sister, Martha<br />
(Emerson)<br />
Robinson;<br />
brother, Charlie<br />
(Frenchy) Annas;<br />
as well as<br />
numerous nieces<br />
and nephews.<br />
He was predeceased<br />
by his<br />
wife, Edna; parents,<br />
John and<br />
Pauline Annas;<br />
and brothers,<br />
Rudy, Nelson and<br />
Gus.<br />

When he did finally get there, that’s<br />
when he started his lifelong love of<br />
girls.<br />
Ricky loved sports and started<br />
playing hockey at 6-years-old right<br />
through high school.<br />
He also played other sports<br />
including soccer and ball. He played<br />
football for the Wildcats in Grade 10.<br />
By then he had met his best friend<br />
Stace who was like a brother.<br />
Ricky also held Stace’s parents Gwen<br />
and Terry Stenberg in very high<br />
regards.<br />
Ricky and Stace had many, many<br />
good times together. Ricky remained<br />
happy, friendly and outgoing and had<br />
many friends.<br />
Prior to graduation, Ricky decided to<br />
go and try his hand at pipelining and<br />

flew to the north to work with Dorn<br />
Stewart.<br />
A couple of months later, he<br />
returned to graduate and then went<br />
back to the north with M & N Pipeline<br />
out of Coronation.<br />
Ricky returned many times to work<br />
for his best friend’s dad, Terry at<br />
Stenberg Oilfield.<br />
As with all oilfield work, things<br />
slowed and Ricky went to work<br />
at Sonny’s Welding with his dad<br />
and cousin.<br />
Ricky stayed with Sonny, other<br />
than periodical stints with SK<br />
Welding, Doug Plett-Ram<br />
Welding and Delta Cats and<br />
again with Stenberg Oilfield<br />
until due to health reasons,<br />
Sonny retired.<br />
Ricky, cousin Sean and the<br />
rest of the flock headed to<br />
Watson’s Welding, where Ricky<br />
operated equipment and welded until<br />
2012.<br />
He decided to try something different<br />
and went to work with Foremost<br />
Welding, building hydro vac trucks for<br />
six years.<br />
It was at this time, he met Tabetha<br />
Shaffer and her son Ethan who were a<br />
huge part of his life.<br />
Ricky went to work for WTS<br />
Manufacturing–Wayne Tebbe, where<br />
he worked until his passing.<br />
When Ricky wasn’t pipelining or<br />
welding you could find him at the farm<br />
helping his Dad with the fencing,<br />
working cattle or whatever the day<br />
brought, or in town helping his Mom.<br />
Ricky is survived by his loving<br />
family: girlfriend Tabetha Shaffer<br />
Klaus (In Memory) of Stettler; mother<br />
on April 6, <strong>2019</strong> at 1 p.m.<br />
Interment of the urn will take place<br />
at the Wetaskiwin Memorial<br />
Cemetery columbarium with<br />
lunch to follow.<br />

A celebration of Ricky’s life was held<br />
on Sat. March 30, <strong>2019</strong>, at the Stettler<br />
Funeral Home with Jan Richardson of<br />
Stettler United Church officiating.<br />
