Pastor defiles teenager, introduces
her to alcohol in Edo

BENIN CITY – A pastor ,
Kingsley Emeka Mokwunye ,
with a branch of Winners Chapel, in
Amagba, near Benin City, Edo State
is currently in the custody of
Department of State Service, DSS, for
having carnal knowledge of a 17-year
old girl (name withheld) who is a
member of the church.
The teenager told journalists in
Benin City, yesterday, that the pastor
introduced her to alcohol and had sex
with her severally and on one occasion
in her father’s house.
In tears, she said the affair started
September last year shortly after she
finished her secondary education.

According to her, “he used to call
me to advise me to stay away from
boys, to live a good life and always
respect my parents. I took it like he
was my father that I could trust and
tell him anything I wanted to say.
“That was how he started calling
me, talking to me till it got to a time
he told me that he likes me. I took it
as a normal thing. He started taking
advantage of me. He started showing
me things I have not seen before and
took me to places I have never been
to. That was how it started. He was
the first person to show me how
condom looks like. He taught me how
to take alcohol.
“He told me not to tell my parents.
He said they would understand what
he was doing. He slept with me
many times, including in our house
when my parents were not at home.
“Thinking about the thing has
affected me educationally. I could not
read. The whole thing was disturbing
me. When I told his wife, she said I
was lying and told me to come to their
house and repeat it before her
husband.
“I want Pastor Kingsley to go to jail.
I was always shocked anytime I am
in church and see him preaching. I
was afraid of telling my mother what
was happening.”

Her father, who is also the Board
Chairman of the church branch, Mr
Paul Obidah, said he was shocked
that a pastor he trusted could destroy
his only daughter.
Paul said what pained him was that
Pastor Kingsley had sex with his
daughter in his house and even
when his daughter was having her
monthly flow.
He said he wants justice in the
case.
His words: “I have been in the
church for the past 27 years. I
started the church in Kaduna
State. Abioye led me to Christ. I
have been in Kaduna all these
years. It got to a time, I decided to
relocate home.
“We have been in Bénin
serving God with our heart.
Many pastors have come to the
branch and gone. I see the pastors
as Oyedepo, the founder of Living
Faith. There was a day Pastor
Kingsley came to my house, I could
smell alcohol from his breath.”
Kwara policeman attacked
in station by madman dies

ILORIN—A
policeman,
Sergeant Abu, allegedly
attacked by a suspected
madman, Tuesday, at the
Omu-Aran Police Division in
Irepodun Local Government
Area of Kwara State reportedly
died yesterday.
Vanguard reliably gathered
that the deceased was said to
be inside the station on Tuesday
when he was allegedly attacked
by the assailant identified as
Femi Adefila, who was armed
with cutlass and other
dangerous weapons .
It was gathered that the
deceased was rushed to a
private hospital in the town from
where he was transferred to Ido
Medical Centre, Ekiti State,
where he later died yesterday.
Adefila, according to a source,
exhibited some form of insanity
before attacking the policeman
as he was said to have first
approached the station with a
shovel and a stick but was
disarmed before he later
reinforced to attack the officer.
Vanguard gathered from a
police source that it took the
combined efforts of some
commercial motorcyclists and
police patrol team before
Adefila, who took to his heel
after the attack, could be
apprehended around Taiwo
area of the town.
According to the source,
who craved anonymity: “I
was on my motorcycle when
I saw the man running,
holding cutlass and a wood.
“He was wearing a red
attire and we followed him.
Later, some other
motorcyclists joined in the
chase and on getting to Taiwo
area, he stopped, dropped
his weapons and raised his
hands.
“It was then arrested by the
police and moved to the
station.”
Contacted, the spokesman
of Kwara State police
command, Ajayi Okasanmi,
confirmed the incident,
saying: “The incident is still
being investigated."
