2. RESIDUAL LIMB LENGTH
Compare the residual limb length to the sound limb by dividing the sound limb femur into thirds.
• The proximal third is considered SHORT length - refer to selection chart part A.
• The middle third is considered MEDIUM length - refer to selection chart part B.
• The distal third is considered LONG length - refer to selection chart part C.

3. PROFILE
Measure and record the circumference of the limb at the level of the perineum, refer to the horizontal axis of the selection chart. If the
intersection from the horizontal and vertical axes lies in the light grey area of the selection chart then a standard profile is recommended; if it
lies in the dark grey area then a conical profile is recommended.
4. FITTING AIDS
Use the principles of profile matching as described in transtibial section. If there are any deep scars or voids, fill with Iceross Pad or silicone
putty.
