NOTE FROM
GIT DIRECTORS
G
reetings from Orosi!
We’re off to a great start
with Growing in Torah
2019! The off season went by
quickly, but was a blessed time to
re-coop, reflect, and enjoy our
new grandbaby. After months of
applications, interviews, and
covering them with prayer, it was
wonderful to finally meet the
students face to face. We have 8
students (2 former) and 8 staff
members. It’s been almost a
month since they arrived, and we
are truly impressed with each
one. It’s amazing to see who the
Father brings each year. We are
very honored to be part of what
YHVH is doing in each one.
Stay tuned! It’s going to be an
amazing year, and we will share
as much as we possibly can.
Shalom,
Bryan & Karla
BUILDING
UPDATE
We are currently waiting for our
plans to be approved.
Thanks so much to Ryan Cribbs,
of Boyatt Design, for helping with
the dorm design layout. It is our
hope to break ground sometime
this season.
Please continue to pray with us
for Yahweh’s perfect plan and
timing as it is our desire to be
able to accommodate more
students.
OUR FIRST
FIELD TRIP
On April 1 st , we had our first field trip of the season.
We went on a daytrip to the Kings Canyon National
Park, which is about an hour drive from the farm.
Although there was lots of snow on the ground and
some roads were still closed, we were able to visit
Grant’s Grove and stroll along the path through the
giant sequoias, enjoying these amazing wonders!
We had lunch at a nearby picnic area, and had to dig
through the snow to find the tables. And what is a
snow trip without a snowball fight? I believe we’re
all in agreement that our Hebrew teacher, Joseph
Williams, has the best “throwing arm”!
After working hard for three weeks, it was nice to
have a little R&R, and see some sights that some of
us had never seen. It was definitely a time of
refreshing, refocusing, and remembering that we
serve an awesome God.
Walking among those giant trees, we felt REALLY
small and realized, to God (Yahweh), how much
smaller we really are, but yet, HE still notices us and
pursues us daily.
This is not always an easy “walk”, but how wonderful
and comforting to know that HE is with us every
single step, giving us exactly what we need when we
need it.
What
Is GIT?
Growing In Torah is a College-Age
program beginning in March, and ending in
the Fall with the Feast of Tabernacles harvest
festival. GIT takes place on a central CA farm.
“Training Students to Bless the Land,
and the People of the Land”
Farm life teaches important life skills, like:
hard work, dedication to detail, patience,
tenacity and humility. We strive to plant these
skills within our young men and women.
The Bible was written to an agricultural
society. Like Yeshua, who used agricultural
analogies in the parables, we use this
agricultural perspective to teach and train our
students both in the physical and spiritual. At
GIT, we are all about getting back to our roots,
and it is a rewarding experience to see this
come to life in our student volunteers as they
get their hands dirty, growing in Torah.
MEET THE STUDENTS & STAFF
Only ones missing are Marian and Piper (our daughter, married to
Nathan Thomas, and granddaughter). We also were happy to have
Alexis Hemker, from last year, come visit us!
