ROMANS 1:20
“For since the creation of the world His invisible
attributes, His eternal power and divine nature,
have been clearly seen, being understood
through what has been made, so that they are
without excuse.” - - Romans 1:20
NOTE FROM
GIT DIRECTORS
G
reetings from chilly CA!
We’re having unusually
cool and rainy weather
right now, but you won’t hear any
of us complaining since it is
normally in the 90’s or higher by
now!
We look forward to our upcoming
WildBranch Praise Conference,
and anticipate great things as we
gather together in His Name.
Each year, we (Bryan and Karla)
attend REVIVE, and this year, we
are so excited to be able to take
our students and most of our
staff with us!! If you attend,
please stop by our booth so we
can introduce everyone! There’s
lots of testimonies to share, and
we always love sharing about life
on the farm!
Shalom,
OUT
WITH THE OLD,
IN WITH THE NEW
O
ne of the first things the
students had to do when
they arrived, was to start
clearing out the winter garden to
make way for the new plants.
We’ve all worked hard on also
applying that concept spiritually.
It can be daunting and very
humbling to dig up and throw
on the burn pile all the old
habits, poor character traits,
misunderstandings, hurt, etc.,
but it’s amazing to see what
happens when we truly get rid of
the old and give our Creator a
clean slate (heart and mind).
New seeds have been planted,
and we eagerly await the fruit we
will bear with HIS help.
LENDING A
HELPING HAND
I
t’s always a blessing when
we have the opportunity to
go to other farms and lend a
helping hand. Not only do we get to
help others, we learn a lot in the
process. We recently visited two
farms to help with thinning fruit,
putting up fencing, and much more.
We’ve been given much, and it’s
very gratifying to be able to
give back.
THE
WONDERS
OF YOSEMITE
A
ll of the colors of the
dusk washed overhead
in the sky, and I began to
reminisce on the journey we had
just embarked on. As all the staff
and GIT students were driving
home, I closed my eyes and
remembered the moment I
awoke with excitement to gather
what I needed for our trip. That
was the morning we headed up
to Yosemite National Park.
Unbeknownst to all of us, there
was a grand adventure ahead full
of beauty.
When it comes to landscapes, I
can instantly become a fangirl
over pretty hills or dazzling
sunsets. About halfway through
our drive, we began climbing
dainty little foothills clothed with
bright yellow grass and I desired
to see more. I beheld
multiple sights that were
novel to me: trees with
very twisted branches,
immovable boulders and
as we drew closer,
charred pines from the
California wildfires. My
mind raced with puzzling
questions. How do trees
become twisted about? Does everyone share an
awe for those stagnate boulders, and does anyone
else want to gain the ability to move one of them
around? Why is it that forests regrow more
vigorously and become more lush after traumas like
wildfires? I believe the natural tendency of mankind
is to want to change something that is actually
unchangeable, and it is mind-blowing when that
object bounces back or remains unmoved despite
our greatest effort.
The size of the cliffs and
the glimmering waterfalls
put me back in my place
and reminded me of how
small I am compared to
the One who created it
all. It made me feel rather
powerless, yet feel so
near to the most powerful
(Continued)
God in the universe. We had the delightful opportunity to
walk under Bridal Veil Falls and become rejuvenated by the
cool water. The Father’s love was displayed through every
drop of water, every crack on the rock, and every blade of
bright green grass. All of this brought me to tears and
caused me to squeal with delight. He is currently teaching
all of us about His love through His natural creation, and
there is an unexplainable spring of joy that comes from finding and discovering it for ourselves!
After braving the trails of Vernal Falls, exploring the cliffs, and
beholding a glorious view from the top, we all began our
descent from our expedition. It was a long day at Yosemite, but
the time and energy spent to visit was well worth it! The sights
and sounds of the rushing rivers still played in my head as we
headed out into the foothills. The previously racing thoughts and
insights from the park slowly mellowed out into the silence of the outdoors. As I closed my eyes
during the ride home, I was thankful to have such a wonderfully intimate encounter with the
Creator. Most of all, I was glad that there is a place like Yosemite to experience the great
heights and great depths of God’s love!
(Continued)
“For I am persuaded,
that neither death, nor life,
nor angels, nor principalities,
nor powers, nor things present,
nor things to come, nor height,
nor depth, nor any other creature,
shall be able to separate us from
the love of God, which is in
Christ Jesus our Lord.”
What
Is GIT?
Growing In Torah is a College-Age
program beginning in March, and ending in
the Fall with the Feast of Tabernacles harvest
festival. GIT takes place on a central CA farm.
“Training Students to Bless the Land,
and the People of the Land”
Farm life teaches important life skills, like:
hard work, dedication to detail, patience,
tenacity and humility. We strive to plant these
skills within our young men and women.
The Bible was written to an agricultural
society. Like Yeshua, who used agricultural
analogies in the parables, we use this
agricultural perspective to teach and train our
students both in the physical and spiritual. At
GIT, we are all about getting back to our roots,
and it is a rewarding experience to see this
come to life in our student volunteers as they
get their hands dirty, growing in Torah.
