logitrans 2019: Bridging Eurasia through
transport and logistics

year at Istanbul Expo Center on

introduced a new section dedicated
to railway with the One Belt-One
Road 850-km launch along the Silk
Road route in 2017 substantially
increasing freight volumes shipped
through rail between Europe and
Asia. Railway cargo traffic's increasing
importance will again be tackled at
this year's logitrans 2019.
The Trans-Caspian Corridor, which
links Turkey, Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan
and Georgia, being constructed is
another important issue that will be
discussed at the event.
Decision-makers in logistics and
supply chain management related
industries participate every year for
more than a decade now at logitrans
which provides opportunities for
companies to meet with customers as
well as establish new business
contacts and expand their business
partners.
The event which also includes
meetings, discussion groups and
conferences tackling the most
pressing industry issues drew more
than 14,000 participants from more
than 50 different countries and 136
exhibitors from over 20 nations last
year.

from November 13-15, 2019, at the
Istanbul Expo Center,” said Messe
München, logitrans organizer along
with EKO Fair Limited.

München ended 2018 with new peak
figures and started 2019 scaling new
heights. Its Chairman and CEO Klaus
Dittrich said at the beginning of the
year: “Messe München is in a splendid
economic position. So we are looking
forward all the more to a remarkable
year of fairs in 2019.”
The company organized 201 events
worldwide in 2018 participated by
over 2.8 million visitors and about
53,000 exhibitors.
At the beginning of 2019, Messe
München repaid the loan of around
EUR520 million granted to it in 1996
by its main shareholders, the Free
State of Bavaria and the City of
Munich for the construction of the
exhibition center.
“For Messe München, this means
that we now strengthen our equity
capital and can be debt-free in 20
years,” said Dittrich in a statement.
For the City of Munich and the Free
State of Bavaria, this repayment is “a
considerable inflow of funds” that
goes to benefit its citizens.
