Something for everyone in the
New Lenox Village Commons
The Village of New
Lenox has tons of fun
planned for the Village
Commons this summer,
and there’s something on
the calendar for everyone.
This year’s calendar is
highlighted by the Triple
Play Concert Series, now
in its 11th year. Taking the
stage in the Commons will
be: Cheap Trick on June 8;
Joan Jett and The Blackhearts,
with special guest
Blue Öyster Cult, on July
20; and Kenny Loggins
on Aug. 31. For details on
tickets, visit newlenox.net/
tripleplay.
The Village is excited to
introduce two new events
to this summer’s calendar.
Cruise the Commons will
offer residents and visitors
the opportunity to bring
their cars, trucks, Jeeps
and bikes, and put them
on display in the Village
Commons. These cruise
night events will take
place from 5-9 p.m.on the
last Tuesday of the month
in June, July, and August.
Live music will be provided,
and beer and wine will
be available for sale.
Also new to this year’s
lineup is Chalk Walk, an
event that will let people
use sidewalk chalk to
make the Commons their
canvas. Artists of any age
and skill level are welcome
to reserve a space
on the sidewalk and create
a masterpiece on Aug.
10, and maybe even win a
prize. If creating a work of
art isn’t for you, then join
us to stroll through the
Commons and enjoy the
art being created by your
neighbors.
Returning to the Village
Commons will be
our traditional Wednesday
Evening Movie Nights,
beginning June 12. Movies
begin at dusk, approximately
8:30 p.m., and
admission is always free.
Guests are encouraged to
bring blankets and lawn
chairs, and concessions
will be available for sale.
Select movies will feature
