Says Naira Marley doesn’t deserve
such illtreatment from EFCC
Veteran musician, Daddy Showkey, has criticized and condemned the heavy security
circumstances under which the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, on
Monday, arraigned popular street music rapper, Azeez Fashola, a.k.a Naira Marley
before a Federal High Court sitting in Lagos on 11-count charge of alleged credit card fraud.
According to the Fire Fire singer, the level of security attached to Marley was unfair and
undeserving.
“When I saw the way Naira Marley was escorted under heavy security on Monday,
it made me laugh. What has he done to deserve that level of security? Is he a threat to
the society? All the people that pose a threat to our society haven’t gotten that kind
of treatment. I insist that he is still a small boy growing up. We all have made
mistakes in the past, if you haven’t, yours would surely come someday. Don’t
think because you are in position today you can use it anyhow. I’ve said it, we
have begged that he should be given another chance but you people don’t
want to listen. Rather you treat him like he was the one who looted Nigeria’s
treasury. The people who have looted and are still looting Nigeria’s
treasury, what have you people done to punish them? Yet you keep treating
him like he’s a slave. You can do whatever you want with him; your
children will meet their waterloo also.”, he said.
Showkey added that government’s insensitivity to the poor masses’
continuous sufferings has been responsible for increase in crime rate.
“There are no jobs in the society so how do you expect the poor
masses to survive? Establish vocational schools but nothing has
been done. Yet you treat him like he’s the one bombing Nigeria,
all those bombing Nigeria, what have you done to them”,
he added.

NGOs to enhance agriculture
through reality show

NEntertainment have revealed intentions to organize a reality TV show titled ‘Farmhouse’.
Speaking about the forthcoming TV show, the CEO, Adventium Global Development Ltd, Mr. Isaac Oghogho
noted that the attention of Nigerian youth needs to be redirected towards agriculture.
“The initiative arose because for several years Nigeria’s economy has been driven by crude oil production
and export; a trend that several governments had tried to reverse by encouraging and developing strategies
and incentives to diversify the economy from crude oil export to other non-oil export products and services
especially agriculture. Projects such as “Green Revolution”, “Operation Feed the Nation”, etc. were largely
unsuccessful due to several factors. One key factor for the lack of success is the youth’s apathy to Agriculture.
It is our objective to stimulate, create awareness and redirect the attention of the youthful population of
Nigeria to the tremendous potentials and opportunities in Agriculture using Entertainment as a delivery
channel that has made the Promoters to embark on a Reality Television show Project’
In her opinion, Miss Gloria Sambo, a member of the organizing team shed light on the benefits accrued
to participants of the reality show.
“The Farmhouse concept will involve recruitment of selected unemployed graduate participants with
passion for agriculture from all over the country and camp them in an integrated farm for 90-days. It is
aimed at promoting the rise of Agripreneurs (Agriculture Entrepreneurship) and it’s an advocacy tool for
development of agri-business in Nigeria. Housemates will equally be trained on good agricultural practices,
including bookkeeping and writing business plans for agricultural financing. In the Farm House,
Housemates will be trained to see agriculture as a wealth- creating business as opposed to the current
trend where the youths perceive agriculture in a derogatory manner”, she said.
At the end of the Ninety day period, participants will be supervised in their respective agricultural
ventures by Adventium Global and the Nigerian intensive risk sharing for Agriculture lending (NIRSAL).

n Sunday, May 19, 2019, veteran musician, Friday Igweh, a.k.a Baba Fryo, shared photos of his bloodstained face after
Ohe was attacked by alleged fake soldiers, in the Alaba Rago area of Lagos State.
However, in an exclusive chat with E-Daily, the ‘Denge Pose’ hitmaker recounted his ordeal with the alleged fake soldiers
and how they were eventually apprehended by officers of the Military Police, Ojo Military Cantonment.
“I and my producer were returning from a show; so we passed through Alaba Rago to enter Alaba International. There’s
this road called NEPA Road and because it’s a tight road I decided to allow an LT bus that was coming towards us pass first,
to forestall traffic jam. As I was about driving off after the bus passed, a man smashed my side mirror, claiming I hit him
while I was reversing to create space for the bus to pass. Before I knew it, he and his colleagues
attacked me with slaps, blowing me here and there. One of them wore a camouflage shirt.
Everybody around believed they were soldiers, so I didn’t retaliate.”
He added; “After much scuffle, they threatened to take me to Ikeja Military Cantonment
but I insisted that if they were real soldiers we must go to Ojo Army Barracks, but they
said its Ikeja Army Barracks that we would go to. They eventually escaped after giving
me serious injuries on my head. However, I went to complain to the OC Military Police,
Ojo Army Cantonment, Capt. A.S Atunwa, who swung into action immediately.
Fortunately, one of the fake soldiers was apprehended on Monday at the same place
where they had physically assaulted me. Tramadol, a military face cap and other
incriminating things were found on him. He is currently being detained at the Ojo
Military Cantonment for further investigations.”

football campaign
against drug abuse
As part of a conscious effort to curb drug
abuse menace among young people in
the society, Creative Executive and Social
Activist, Stephen Chibuzor, popularly known
as Igwe Paparazzi, held the 4 th edition of
‘Powerball Football Tournament’, an annual
event aimed at discouraging drug abuse among
young people in the society.
Speaking to E-Daily on the essence of the
event, the convener, Stephen Chibuzor said;
“Powerball Football Tournament is an annual inter
university 5-aside-football tournament that sees
different universities and celebrity teams compete
in a friendly atmosphere to create awareness for the
prevention of drug abuse on Nigerian campuses. Drug
abuse among young people has become a problem
that needs to be paid attention to immediately. A group
of Nigerian entertainers decided to come together to
create the much needed awareness against drug abuse
on campuses, using football as a tool.”
Entertainers including popular comedian, Akpororo,
Big Brother Naija 2017 winner, Efe Ejeba, musician,
Sexy Steel, Joe Boy, DJ Voyst, Junior Boy, Ossy
Achievas, Bello Kreb, Josh 2Funny, Instagram comic

the 2019 edition of the tournament which held at the
