Tuesday night, June 18, 2019 there will
be a reception at the Historic City Hall of
the Broken Time Exhibit from 5 p.m. to 8
p.m. and public is invited featuring the
artist who will be speaking on his works
and life.
WEDNESDAY 19TH- - JUNETEENTH
FINALE – The Epic Day - Civic Center
7:00 p.m. Closing Ceremony – Opens
with African tradition to include great
rituals and educational history about
us. (African Americans) This will take
place at the Lake Charles Civic Center
Amphitheater.
Wednesday at Dark – Public Fireworks
Show (like 4th of July but, but celebrating
the freedom of Blacks/African Americans)
There is no other firework show that we
know of honoring Juneteenth and the
Black experience.
“This will be a grand week where every
day we will celebrate our history. We will
come out of the week feeling remarkably
pleased with a new expectation of
greatness for our community. With a new
sense of unity and commitment to honor
those who suffered through that period
that we celebrate for Juneteenth, says
CEO, Jayvon Muhammad.”
