SWLA education Lake Charles College Prep 2019 Graduates Ta'Jah Janell Lashay Wilson delivered Valedictorian's address. Ninety graduates of Lake Charles College Prep were honored during graduation ceremonies on May 17th in Burton Coliseum. Ms. Jennifer Zeringue, Principal, Dr. Sabrah Kingham, Director of Education, the Honorable Gene Thibodeaux, President of the Board of Trustees, and Board Members, conferred honors on the second graduating class of LCCP. Ta'Jah Janell Lashay Wilson delivered the Valedictorian’s address and Keyshawna Ny'Asia Givs delivered the Salutatorian’s Address. 2019 Honor Graduates included: Jose Bentancourt Matheus, Rolando Edra Bigalbal, Destiny Joetta Gordon, Dante Damond Jones and Zhania Oshanee-Monae Rankins. Mr. Ted Williams, a Lake Charles native and a current resident of Washington, D.C. delivered the Keynote Address. He challenged the students to “erase the words ‘I can’t’ from your vocabulary. When you say, ‘I can’t,’ you have already failed.” Dr. Sabrah Kingham, Director of Education, presents diplomas to Honor Grads, Keyshawna Ny'Asia Givs, Salutatorian and Jose Bentancourt Matheus. Using his own high school experience, his work in law enforcement, law school, and now as a legal analyst for MSNBC, CNN, and FOX News, Mr. Williams challenged the students and told them, “It may take some time to figure out your purpose in life. Keep seeking the unique role you were created to play in life and never give up.” Judge Thibodeaux reminded the students that they join last year’s eighty-two graduates as true Trailblazers. “You were and you are a part of a group of young people going where no one else has gone before. You are changing the way education is provided in Southwest Louisiana.” Paul Fuselier speaks to audience.
