Safety Month
...and those going on vacation,
preparing for hurricane evacuation or
out and about with community activities
can plan with these safety tips in mind
as provided by Chief Shawn Caldwell.
• If you’re going on vacation, make
sure your neighbors check your mail
and retrieve your papers so potential
burglars can’t determine if no one is
home.
• If you’re going to attend an event
with children always make sure you do
not leave them unattended and know
their whereabouts.
• When traveling to stores and getting
out of your vehicles, always be aware of
your surroundings.
• Lock your vehicles, keep valuables out
of sight.
• Keep personal weapons secure if you
have children and keep gun locks on
weapons.
• Get to know your neighbors; they
can sometimes be better than alarm
systems.
• In our summer heat, remember to stay
hydrated and drink plenty of water.
